Tony Hawk's Proving Ground soundtrack revealed, Beastie Boy's MCA playable photo
     Music

Say what you will about the aging Tony Hawk skating franchise, but it's hard to deny Neversoft's nack for culling an eclectic, solid soundtrack for the games. Today, Neversoft has revealed the soundtrack for the upcoming Tony Hawk's Proving Ground, which will contain 50 songs that span across a number of genres including hip-hop, punk, and metal.

Among the songs making the cut will be a new track, "The Pretender," from the Foo Fighters' upcoming album. It will be joined by tracks by Bloc Party, El-P, Nirvana, and other songs "that have fueled today's skateboarding culture." The Beastie Boys' "Electric Worm" will also appear on the game's soundtrack, likely to complement the inclusion of Adam "MCA" Yauch as a secret unlockable character. Some secret, guys -- you put it in a damned press release!

Not a bad soundtrack for the free game you get for buying the Guitar Hero III demo, eh? Hit the jump for the full list.

@electro lemon: I'm glad I'm not the only one who thought that.

And also, isn't MCA like, 40 years old or something?

No Red Hot Chili Peppers? Fail. As a skateboarder myself, these tracks do not make me want to go skate, except for maybe Nirvana and Revolution Mother.

I probably won't play this iteration of Tony Hawk either.

No good soundtrack since 2. Coincidentally, the last one I played extensively.

That soundtrack actually does have some phenomenal songs on it, but it's largely shit. Still, anything with a Beastie Boy automatically has a degree of win to it.

Who cares if they're old? What's wrong with you people?

I met Adam Yauch in a supermarket. He is cool, I will enjoy playing as him.

This soundtrack is looking good. It consists of a lot of stuff (old and new) I'm into, including Silversun Pickups, Immortal Technique, El-P, Roots Manuva, Blackalicious (high five, Tiff), Bad Brains, The Clash.

Lemon, all hip-hop isn't bad. Get with the good stuff and leave false impressions behind. I'm making you and Charlie a mix real soon.

Bloc Party: win.
Jurrasic 5: win.
The Clash: win.

Quite a few win-level bands there.

It might be meh but at least it's not bleh.

Anyways Tony Hawk is so old now, I'm sure HIS musical tastes don't match up that much anymore :P
