Tony Hawk: RIDE features 42 more songs than Pro Skater 1 photo

When Tony Hawk Pro Skater came out in 1999, it featured 15 songs. When Tony Hawk: RIDE hits stores on November 17, it will feature more than 50 songs. My, how far we've come.

Although it's somewhat of a rebirth for the series, the RIDE soundtrack looks like you'd expect a Tony Hawk videogame soundtrack should look in 2009. There's a mix of popular bands along with some stuff you've probably never heard of, with genres ranging from punk to hip hop, rock to funk.

The Commodores, Green Day, Queens of the Stone Age, Murs, NOFX... they're all there, along with a bunch of others you read about after the jump.

  • Adam Tensta – “My Cool”
  • Band of Skulls – “Patterns”
  • Beatsteaks – “Run Run”
  • Beck – “Gamma Ray”
  • Bill Withers – “Lovely Day”
  • The Black Keys – “I Got Mine”

The soundtrack is decent enough. Anything with Jack White already has my ears perked.

But what's up with the graphics? Claymation Tony Hawk? :/

Well than maybe its incentive to buy the game just for the music,so you could have something to listen to while you play skate.

I, for one, would be happy if they actually did reuse the THPS1 soundtrack. Or THPS1 and THPS2, they were both great soundtracks.

Well seeing as THPS1 is on a CD and Ride is on a DVD, I'd expect there to be a large amount more songs.

I'm happy for The Pinker Tones getting out and about and all, but they certainly could've picked a song off the album of theirs that isn't so... boring. x:

Seems like they could have 100 songs if they were so apt.

Just hold a contest for lesser known bands to get their songs in the game. Doesn't cost you anything and they get free awesome publicity.

SETLIST EXPANDED!

If you guys knew how costy it is to liscence music for games... you'd think this is a decent amount of songs. Let's just say they have to sell a few hundred thousands just to pay back the music liscencing fees...
