Tony Hawk Pro Skater HD was revealed at this weekend's Spike VGA show. Tony Hawk himself said that this game combines the best parts of the first two THPS titles and bumps them up to HD. Today, Activision sends along more details on the upcoming digital release.
First off, good news. Tony Hawk Pro Skater HD will be priced at about $15. Robomodo is the developer. They've combined new visuals with "the best controls ever in a Tony Hawk game" to make this game that focuses on linking tricks. It'll be just like the good ol' days, except with better graphics.

They could have easily priced this game at 40$+. Kudos to Activision for finally pricing a major franchise (At least it used to be...) reasonably. If only more companies would do this.
Have they announced which platforms it will be for? Assuming XBLA, PSN, and maybe PC, but I'd like verification. Have a friend who only has a Mac and a Wii who'd like this game, so I want to know if I have to deliver bad news!
Cautiously optimistic. I'm a little worried they'll try to shoehorn in some of the extraneous features that turned me off of the later games (flatland tricks, natas spins, nail-the-trick, etc.), but still, this is lightyears ahead of pretty much every other Tony Hawk game that's shipped this generation.
That trailer brought back some good, GOOD memories. I hope they get the original soundtrack in there (especially Superman by Goldfinger), but whatever...honestly, I'd pay $40 for this.
For 15 dollars? How could you not pick this up? It's when THPS was actually awesome. As long as the school level from THPS2 is actually in there I am in for 1.
I will totally get this so long as it has the physics of the old Tony Hawk games. Project 8, and everything after it was a mess. The physics in that game were laughably bad.
Hope this is playable on Vita too, because this would be a perfect pick up an play game. Also if Spider-Man isn't in this game I will be very disappointed.
Hell no, Skate is superior in every single way. Not all things deserve and/or need an HD "throwback", they should just work on making the series relevant again after the last few years missteps.
I personally think that the franchise peaked at 4. Not 2. everything added in 3 and 4 was great, it wasnt until underground that things started gettting a little weak.

I will definitely be down for this. Haven't played since my dreamcast was last out. Maybe a custom soundtrack possibility? That way I can update accordingly with select tracks from Municipal Waste, Frenzal Rhomb, The Decline, Ceremony, Rentokill, Bandanos, Adrenalized, Pillsbury Hardcore, Extortion, Vatican Commandos, and LOADS MORE!! GOOD TIMES!!!
It's a sad that they're only going with THPS 1 & 2. The third game was clearly the best in the series, I'd pick it up in an instant if they gave it an HD face lift.

Skate is to Tony Hawk Pro Skater as Gran Turismo is to Forza. The former is for people who are REALLY into those specific generas, whereas the latter is a lot more accessible to everyone.
The series used to be a favourite of mine. However, there is only so much snapping on to rails and "How many canned animations can you trigger before you land?" one can take.

Nope, sorry Mr. Hawk, you're a little late to the "remake games in HD" bandwagon.
Not digging on the game, just saying he promised something "different" and did not deliver.
Backflip, over the half-pipe, through the secret room... Should of finished and completed the 'Holy Sh*t' grind bonus.
so its going to have the new controls but the old locations? that s kinda cool. looking forward to the school level!
