Tony Hawk is still relevant in Tony Hawk's Shred Session

Tony Hawk is back, but not in the way you might be hoping for. TouchArcade went in-depth with the latest skateboarding game to bear Hawk's name, and it's a free-to-play iOS game called Tony Hawk's Shred Session, available this summer.

Shred Session is actually a vertical endless runner that combines skate tricks with swipe gestures for a Tony Hawk game that basically eschews everything we know about the rest of the games in the series. It'll include two modes: Survival, where players perform as many tricks as possible in quick succession as long as they can, and Shred Sessions, a mission-based objective mode that tasks players with familiar tasks like collecting "S-K-A-T-E," just like old times!

Play as Tony himself or six playable skaters, all of which are customizable with coins earned simply by playing the game or purchasing them. Yes, Shred Session will be supported by in-app purchases. Rejoice!

Activision is planning on a soft launch for Tony Hawk: Shred Session in a few weeks, with a full release for everyone this summer. For now, check out TouchArcade's exclusive footage of the game where Tony himself gives it a go.

Natsume's E3 2014 lineup sure is a lineup

Natsume has announced its complete E3 roster for next week, and while it's got a few high points, it's not impressing me too much. It's a strange mishmash of handheld games and iOS releases with a stray PSP game and Wii U pro...more
