Tons of screens for Brandish: The Dark Returning photo

As we've told you before, Brandish: The Dark Returning is dungeon crawling goodness, now returning in glorious 3D to that PSP of yours. Japan gets their copies on March 19th, coming packed with upgraded visual goodness from the Falcom Super Famicom game of old.

We found this lot of new screens on Siliconera. They show even more of the game were you fall underground with a scantily clad girl and try to get back out. Pretty simple, eh? No, it's not. Take a look at the map screens in our gallery. Yikes. There's nothing simple about that.

I'm keeping fingers crossed for a English language version.

The original Brandish titles were extremely clunky. I very vividly remember that when your character turned, he did not physically turn, but the dungeon itself turned around him. It was a very disorienting mechanic, and an odd choice for a dungeon navigation game. Hopefully this 3D retread will contain none of that nonsense.

I also hope for an Eigo version. This doesn't look half bad.

@Mr Gilder: What do you notice about the character's position in all those screens? Yup, back facing you, always. Looks like they remade it authentic ;)

They will likely have visible rotation, so that it isn't as disorienting. The SNES game had to just cut to the new angle.

Yo, it's "The Dark Revenant". It says so, in English, on Falcom's site. Time to re-learn your katakana, I guess!

I would really, really rather have this on a home system. That being said, I probably don't want to pay more than 10 bucks for it.
