Tomb Raider: Underworld's release is just around the corner, and the teaser videos coming out of Eidos are doing a great job of tempting us with this upcoming release.

This time around, Lara finds herself scaling the anchor of an ocean liner, rocking a bikini and gun holsters. Fancy. Immediately after stepping on deck, she's in the line of fire, jumping off dudes' chests and shooting them in the face.

It's a normal one woman vs. an army gun fight until one idiot decides to shoot a flammable tank, sending the ship down in flames. Watch on as Lara dodges obstacles, fire, explosions, all done with no pants on.

This game looks better every time I see it!

You would think her feet would hurt a bit from all that fire and metal. Maybe she has special Crocs.

Uncharted still looks better. Gameplay wise and animations.

Reminds me how Hideo Kojima wanted to have a sequence of escaping the sinking tanker in MGS2, but gave up on it since it "wasn't fun."

Dale, a bikini is a two-piece. That was a one-piece.

Looks like a great level.

Oh, and fuck all you Tomb Raider haters.... Legend & Anniversary were awesome.

@Endstiem: I agree, I loved Legend.

But have you played the demo for Underworld yet? The wacked-out camera makes it nearly unplayable.

I've been lied to. There was no bikini.

Never again will I trust Destructoid on important issues such as this.

The single-screen renders looked so good. But this... Why does Lara look like she was rendered with such a low polygon count? It really looks like the unrealistic Tomb Raider 2 model from the PS1. Not to mention the running animation looks so bad; like a supermodel/antelope bounding along. And how about at 00:23 - the weakest jumping side kick ever recorded...
Too bad. You would think that having Uncharted to reference would improve on the TR play mechanics/aesthetic.

I think i've played this level before. It was in a game called Tomb Raider: Modern Warfare or was it Call of Duty: Underworld!!!

I've already pre-ordered the Ultimate Fan Pack for Underworld. I liked the demo. The camera was annoying as all hell, but that's Tomb Raider for you.

I mean, WHY CAN'T I TURN THE CAMERA TO SEE BEHIND ME WHEN LEAPING OFF A CLIFF?

@munkee

Tomb Raiders are around for almost 10 years so Lara is not a new gunslinger.

I agree with the camera thingy. In this game the camera is totally wacky but i loved the demo. It's not in my plans right now. maybe after the price drop....

The level remids me of Tomb Raider 2. U know, the ship level where lara wore a suimming suit that had the exact yellow line. Anyway, the lucky monk that saw her changing died shortly after.

@marioland

I never mentioned anything to do with 'new'

I hoped that perhaps being an already established IP, it wouldn't have to lower its self to the basic level of gunslinger, yet again.

You cant of been too impressed by the video either. You say that you'll 'maybe' buy it 'after the price drop'

come on eidos.. we all get it by now. new console's, higher polys, lush enviroments [grey ship included], wobblyer physics and sometimes a pervy camera angle. Add in some jumping, swimming and shooting.... you got it... Tomb Raider, yaaaaay!

I got a new IP for ya... Room Raider. Middle aged mum, cleans house. runs, jumps, hoovers. stockings around her ankles, sometimes pervy camera.
