Yesterday, we posted an unfounded rumor that actress Megan Fox was set to play Lara Croft in an upcoming Tomb Raider film. We didn't buy it for a second, but I'm going to be honest -- it was an excuse for us to let Hamza post pictures of Megan Fox who, as he said with such class, has "a great body, [and] a nice ass." Oh, Hamza!
Here's the truth -- Warner Bros. and producer Dan Lin are indeed looking into a new Tomb Raider film, in what's being called a "reboot" of the franchise. Two films starring Angelina Jolie were made by Paramount, but the rights for the franchise were recently reverted back to Eidos. The new films are expected to have almost no tie-in to the Paramount films, and to be a complete revamp of the series.
This of course means a new actress will slip into the tiny cargo shorts of Croft. The new Warner Bros. film hasn't yet been written (send 'em your treatment, writers!), which means things like actors and directors haven't yet been attached.
I spoke with Megan last night* (she keeps calling me, not understanding the "I'm married" bit I keep telling her), and she denied rumors of her involvement in the Tomb Raider film. Huge Guitar Hero fan, though.

She'd be better looking if she paid the (my approximation) $15,000+ to get all her tats removed. Everytime I think "wow...hot", I remember she has marilyn monroe and some childish poetry tat'ed on her body.
Just for reference, I had a buddy that just finished paying $3,000 to get a very small irish cross removed that originally cost him $125.
I just can't get past her tats to give her "one of the most beautiful women in the world" status.
If she paid (by my estimation) 15-20k to get them all removed, then yea.
I'd be down for another Tomb Raider movie, and in the hands of a good writer/director pair, it could be pretty interesting. Hell, I'd be even okay with a Michael Bay-esque Tomb Raider, where it's just loud, dumb, and fun.
As for Lara herself, I'm gonna have to agree with /Film and say Rhona Mitra is a pretty good choice. She's a competent enough actress, looks the part, and you could get her pretty cheap...which leaves money for production and effects.
Transformers is basically, "Fucking hell, Megan Fox is hot: The Movie"
That being said, she is indeed very hot. But she is playing GH on Wii! And I would probably grind her into dust!
