So I am wondering if I should go for Gunstar Heroes for Wii or try to get a gameboy advance version...any thoughts?
PS: for Gameboy advance, if I were try to play multiplayer (assuming it has it) do boht people need a cart?

I'm sure it's been said a thousand times, but how sad is it that much of the conversation about these next gen systems involves games like Ice Hockey for the NES?
So true. There is a lot of weak sauce on the Wii, but at the very least Zelda's a pretty long game in the meantime.
Give it time Lez...I'm damn certain that a year down the road we will be waiting for Assassins Creed 2 and Elder Scrolls 5. We've also got a ton of great PC games to look forward to! I just think that XBLA , PNP , and the Virtual Console are such new concepts to people that it's compelling since the Wii and Ps3 are still new and lack the library we want :)
I don't understand how Nintendo could possibly go this long without releasing SUPER Mario Bros. on the VC in NA. I mean, SMB must be the first thing that comes to anyone's mind when they think NES.

I use to play that in highschool on my laptop emu. I was almost suspended because I did it so many times and so blatently. and Blindside - I'd get both versions of gstar, but then again I am insane. Gunstar heroes for gameboy is great for the subway but then again it's even more special played on my 7 ft projector screen with the classic controller.

haha Bahamut...thanks for trying. I think im leaning towards Wii cause then I know for sure I can play multiplayer!

i could care less about any of these titles or the ones released, where's SMB1? or Super Metroid? its not like nintendo has to worry about running out of games to put on the Wii Shop (4 a week x 52 = 416 games per year on over 5 systems each w/over 1,000 games in their library, which the big N has i'd say about a 20% share of them being first party games (made by nintendo).
anywho.. i just hope i see Chrono trigger or Super Street Fighter II Alpha 2!! imagine online mode w/SS2A2.. oh yea!!

I expected nothing less from the Wii's launch than a bunch of weak 3rd party stuff and for the most part, I'm right.
I am getting SSGolf this week, and of course, Ice Hockey and Gunstar are must haves, so it's not like I don't have anything to do.

Ninty is waiting to release their AAA VC titles for major droughts between 1st party releases. pretty smart actually. who'd pay money for wario's woods if chrono trigger was out?

where the hell is my damn mario, fuck mario bors. some SMB at least, or mario world. they have it in the east, we get the console first and they still get more good games.
I think Nintendo might use these vc titles the same way they use actual new game releases. They are going to hype up the classics like they are new games and people will go for it. I like some of the classics but I agree with Lezbro that it's a bit strange that we are getting excited about old ass games like shitty ice hockey when this is supposed to be the most innovative console ever.

I remember the n64 and gamecube, great first party titles and good 3rd party titles that come once a year. I hope I'm wrong and the wii comes out with some great games but I have a feeling it will be relegated to red headed step child status like the cube and 64.

broham you are so so so wrong. so wrong. I even agree that I went back to PC games after a little while (still waiting on component vid cable to get into zelda) but once the killer apps trickle out (super smash, galaxy, metroid, etc) along with the killer VC games (chrono trigger, FF SNES games, starfox 64) wii is going to be unstoppable. it's designed for more pick up and play than extended gaming anyway. just like the ds that had plenty of haters saying the same exact shit.

The key word you used.....trickle. I don't know what I'm so so so wrong about, if you're excited about ice hockey, that's great. Not me. I payed 250 plus to play new games not to have the ability to pay for old ones I already played.
Look the vc is awesome, I'm just worried that the wii will follow the same path as their last two consoles and have very little quality support from 3rd parties.
People will say that the console just came out so you have to be patient and wait. Well, that's great because that's Nintendo's policy..hurry up and wait.
As far as the control, big deal. A game like Red steel, that I rented, stunk...because of the control. I can say the same about Zelda. I kept telling myself that the control is so much better with the wii mote since I spent 250 bucks + on this thing, but it's not. I'm going to return the wii version and pick up the gc version tom.

I'm still hoping Sega/Treasure brings Alien Soldier (most over priced Genesis game, period) because it'd be nice to have a truly official version, running in all it's glory outside a 3rd party emulator. Gun Star heroes is great, though, so I look forward to getting that title when I can finally obtain a Wii.
