Today is the anniversary of the best Super Nintendo game of all time

6:30 PM on 05.13.2014

18 years ago today, Super Mario RPG: Legend of the Seven Stars was released in North America (though if you want to get really technically the game was first released in Japan on March 9, 1996).

Normally I don't really keep up with game anniversaries, but I had to make a special note of it this time as a local news station in Dothan, Alabama actually made a special mention of it in their programming. Totally random, yet pretty cool this happened at all.

Super Mario RPG holds a really special place in my nostalgia boner, and I consider it one of my favorite games of all time.

Makes sense. more

Costume Quest 2 is still cute, trying to be more engaging

Costume Quest, like every Double Fine game, is charming. It's a fresh-feeling, low stakes take on the JRPG genre, more Earthbound than Final Fantasy. Though, as Chad put it in his review, it's "RPG Lite," accessible...more
