Fun fact! Today marks the fifteenth anniversary of the Street Fighter movie! On December 23 1994, Street Fighter made its way across theaters all across America.
In celebration of the anniversary, Kombo dug up an old Entertainment Tonight clip to help us celebrate this masterpiece. The clip features Jean Claude VanDamme attempting to sound interesting, and we also see what motivated Raul Julia to be involved in the film.
Despite how horrible the film was, I love it. It's just enjoyable in some, demented way. I think today is a good day for all of us to re-watch the Street Fighter movie again, with the Podtoid commentary of course.
Hamza Aziz, Destructoid's Community Director, has been here since day one. He was born when a tiger coughed up a hairball into a pool of ooze. He was one of the original Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles before budget cuts. Hamza works as a previews editor and manages a team in San Francisco. To date he has given away tens of thousands of dollars in prizes to readers. What a dick. Actually, Hamza is as kind as he is hairy.

Fun Fact: Street Fighter the Movie was my late mom's most favorite movie ever!
She had NO IDEA that it was based on a videogame! We actually had a long chat about the game and the movie. I explained some of the history, and showed her some gameplay from SF Alpha 3.
Before I totally tear up, gonna head to Amazon and buy it. Ahhh memories...
Destructoid is an open discussion community. You don't need to "audition" to post a comment - just speak your mind. We respect differing opinions on the site, so have at it. Be smart, funny, insightful, clueless, or cute -- but back it up with substance. Keep your cool, keep it fun. We only ask that you act respectfully and above all: don't be a troll and ruin it for everyone else. Don't bring down gamers or we'll, you know, gently shoot you in the face and stuff you into a flaming mailbox. Each comment is your opportuntity to make this community awesomer. Is that even a word?
Avoiding the banhammer only requires common sense: spamming, trolling, racism, NSFW stuff, and other forms of sucking will not be tolerated. If anyone is griefing please report abuse. Be good. Don't suck!
That quote is way to good for that movie. But so was Raul Julia.
I love this movie! I'm still recommending this to friends/random strangers. Soooo f'ing good.
Best. Movie. Ever.
He will always be remembered by me, for his awesome Gomez Addams.
He did what he wanted to do, you know.

RIP Raul Julia, we will always remember you for your great performance as Mike Bison. And Gomez Addams of course. Happy anniversary everyone.
...but Hamza, how can you fail to mention Jim Sterling's wonderful article on this subject?
