Titanfall's highly anticipated beta formally kicks off today, and if you're lucky enough to have an invite, there's a lot to learn in a short amount of time. The game has its own set of quirks, and once mechs get introduced to the match, it gets hectic enough that it becomes tough to figure some stuff out on the fly.
Fortunately, some of the developers at Respawn made this nifty little video to guide all the newcomers. The only problem is that while most of the tips are incredibly badass, they're the sort of maneuvers that are more apt for seasoned veterans that know the nuances of the game.
Having spent a bit of time with the beta, the best piece of advice I can give is to rodeo opponents' mechs as often as possible. In my experience, since everyone is so unfamiliar with Titanfall, enemies rarely realize that you're doing it, as they're probably too preoccupied with all the other action. This makes for some quick and satisfying kills.
