Limited time promotion

Remember that free game deal Nintendo offered up for XL owners? Well, we figured we'd give you a refresher. Oh, and the time for the deal has been extended a bit.

Nintendo wants to give you a free game with your purchase of a 3DS XL and either Luigi's Mansion: Dark Moon or Pokemon Mystery Dungeon: Gates to Infinity. Simply register your system and game purchase between March 21 and April 30 and pick from one of the five 3DS games:

  • Super Mario 3D Land
  • Professor Layton and the Miracle Mask
  • Art Academy
  • Star Fox 64 3D
  • Freakyforms Deluxe: Your Creations Alive

Nintendo has full details on how to jump on this offer. As long as your XL was registered on or after February 14 you're good.

Nintendo challenged the folks at iam8bit to put together a "functioning" replica of Luigi's ghost sucking Poltergust 5000 from Luigi's Mansion: Dark Moon. They did exactly that, because ghost catching is serious business. If I can get my hands on this and a working Proton pack, I'll stop having to worry about Patrick Swayze forcing me to make pottery.
Despite all of the credit it deserves, the original Luigi's Mansion was a very basic experience, which alienated gamers who were left wanting more. Nintendo fans decried everything from the simplicity, to the l...
