Three semi-rare PS2 games get reprints photo

Reprints rock. Especially reprints of Atlus and NIS games that you missed out on during the initial run and are now selling for well above the MSRP. We told you about Shin Megami Tensei: Nocturne getting the reprint treatment a few months ago, and now bring word of another title in the SMT line that is as well.

Shin Megami Tensei: Digital Devil Saga is now available at Play-Asia for $44.90. Play-Asia has also let us know through their newsletter that their supply of Nocturne reprints have also been restocked, so feel free to nab one of those if you haven’t already.

The NIS camp is also reprinting one of its harder to find games, AR Tonelico: Melody of Elemia. They also have a reprint of Disgaea: Hour of Darkness available, but that’s not quite as exciting due to there already being several versions available and another one coming to the DS. While both of these are available at Play-Asia as well, their prices are marked up rather high. Pick em up at NIS distributor Rosenqueen instead.

I still kick myself over the time I let Digital Devil Saga slip through my fingers -- I saw a new copy sitting on a GameStop shelf for $30 a little while after it originally came out, but didn’t do more than glance at the cover since I’d never heard of it before. I picked up Ghost in the Shell: Stand Alone Complex instead. … Anyway, at least now I can finally give the game a go.

Will you be picking any of these up?

Dammit. I just paid too much for Ar Tonelico the other week, and now they reprint it. D:

I picked up a copy of Nocturne a bit ago, and I think I'm going to have to grab Digital Devil Saga.

I traded my copy of DDS to a friend in exchange for Nocturne before either reprint was announced. I personally didn't enjoy DDS that much. But I loved Nocturne to death and got the best ending on my first run-through because it was that neat. (Yes, I walkthroughed the mini-game puzzle crap.)

I've been interested in Ar Tornelico, but didn't feel like dealing with exorbitant prices to purchase it. I might pick it up sometime in the not-too-distant future if I've got enough money lying around. It did seem kinda interesting.

Argh, the reprints lack the bonus items and cases and stuff. I'll probably end up trying my luck on eBay someday instead.

This is always a good thing but there's a reason why AR Tonelico disappeared without trace.

AR Tonelico: Melody of Elemia? First I've heard of it. O_o

I've already got Disgaea and Nocturne, might borrow DDS from a friend.

I bought all those when they first came out. It's called the Atlus Rule. If it's by Atlus, you gotta buy it the first week or so, or you'll never see it again.

As every body knows, there are a lot of disadvantages for living in Europe if you're a gamer. Especially, if you like Atlus-type games, since many of those games are released very much later or not at all.
But, the games that are released here can be found for an extended period of time and sometimes, even drop in price after the first couple of months. I just got Grim Grimoire and PES3 for 25 euro a pop.

In short, the Atlus Rule does not apply in Europe and that is actually an advantage for European gamers in comparison to US gamers.

Farscape seems to be a lot luckier then me as none of my local gaming stores ever have anything by Atlus :-(
