You've been itching to get your hands on Perfect Dark for XBLA haven't you? You're just dying to see what the full levels look like in 60 fps and hi-def visuals. The game doesn't land until this Wednesday though! What to do‽ What to do‽ There's no way you're going to make it!

Just settle down. Video.Destructoid has you covered. We've just put up three levels from the upcoming release and you can see just how smoothly the game runs through all of them. I'm getting nostalgia flashbacks already and I'm only a minute into the first video. Oh, old school night vision goggles that simply turned everything green and black. Actually, that is all modern night vision goggles in games do too.

I was actually on the fence about buying this since I've got the N64 hooked up to my TV and can play any time, but seeing the run-throughs of these levels has pushed me over to downloading time. Come on Wednesday, get here sooner.

To be honest, I'm much more interested in the multiplayer but I'll probably give the SP a whirl too. Christ I forgot how bad graphics used to be(and this is with the tuned up version too).

I remember doing those dark parts in the first video without night vision because I was an idiot kid who didn't know how to work the gadgets.

I thought Perfect Dark was better then golden eye, mostly b/c I always felt james bond was the dumbest thing ever.

I mean what secret agent tells people his name, is a celeb etc. its just so dumb I couldn't handle it.

I've purchased an Xbox 2100 points card for this occasion. (for the first time in ages... since Braid!) It'll complement Shadow Complex, now that I've finally bothered to pay for some magical space money that allows me access to their service!

I remember that level with the completely nonsensical office building! This game still doesn't really appeal to me.

This port makes me wish I had a 360. All the game needed was better framerate and some smoother textures for me to tolerate again.

the computer in SP is still retarded. you can run circles around it like before. loved alerting guys and running by to shoot them in the back.

granted the multiplayer is where its at. barely make me with i still had a 360. can just play the 64 version.

laptop gun rules. i loved throwing it in unexpected places.
also dragon and super dragons.
now that i really think about it, double cyclones was my most used weapon. unload clip mode, shoot one at a time ,shoot one as other loads.
man this game had awesome weapons.

Game still looks great. I think it's aged fine, especially with the polygon increase and HD-ification (sure wish these videos were in HD!)

That said, I'm curious as to how this game will control--will the default settings harken back to N64-era FPS control schemes, or will it feature a nice, dual-stick revamp?

We're finally getting the game we deserved! Rare's insistence on choosing textures/graphics over framerate (PD, JFG) crippled what should have been its finest hour(s) on the N64. This is a GREAT game, dated or no, and now it has the benefit of being actually playable.

It seemed like you got a little lost in that first video there, Rey lol. No worries though, that level would have taken me 5 times longer. Nothing from Zelda compares to the trouble I've had in that damn maze they call a building.

On another note, I'm so buying this game. Confirmation for Xbox 360 only?

Is it just me or in the first video do the enemies look way taller than you in this version? I dont remember them seeming that gigantic in the n64 version.

Does Perfect Dark have the Goldeneye equivalent of "License To Kill" (basically one shot kills) in Multiplayer? I'm really hoping that it does...as that was the only mode that was worth playing in Goldeneye.
