I'm pretty sure that they're doing the same thing as they did with GTA IV and purposefully releasing images that look like they've come out of a tour guide. It's a clever way of showing things off imo.
I'm sure (hopeful) that the second trailer will be released soonish. It's been too long since the first.

I have to admit that this approach is kind of annoying. I wouldn't mind seeing some, y'know, actual gameplay.
I understand they're trying to showcase what the game looks like here, but I have a feeling that this is going to be one of those games where everything looks like ass up close. You can kind of tell by just looking at the trees. So far the only things that are looking really good are the vehicles, but that's always been the case. Hopefully they aren't a pain to control...Still, it's early yet, but Sleeping Dogs is going to be a hard act to follow. Most fun open world sandbox I've every played.
GTA 4 was architecturally beautiful. Some of the suburbs and industrial areas were incredible. It was the gameplay that left me feeling it wasn't as good as the previous games.
However I do have hope that someone there listened, because Ballad of Gay Tony was much closer to their roots, and was a lot more fun than GTA 4.

what im getting out of these pics is the fact they are giving us more stuff to do in this GTA. ive always said GTAIV was what GTA3 was to the ps2. it was very basic just to get the new tech out etc. now they have refined it and improved it, gta5 is the gta:vc of this gen.

@Dragonzeanse You have to consider that we are talking about Rockstar a developer that does not give a shit about anything. They are "too cool" to play with the others (look at E3 or other Conventions) or play like the others (e.g. by releasing a new trailer and/or a bunch of screenshots every week). They always handled things differently and I respect that. Besides think about the benefits, by keeping it rather rare with new stuff they only make me more curious and you can happily say that you dont know the game from beginning to end because the trailers spoiled everything.
They need to show me alot after boring me to death with GTAIV. Some of the writing was good but all the friends and sidemission stuff was tedious.

Sweet, parachutes. Now I hope the gameplay has been improved (read less boring). Sure hope they learn a few things about fun from Sleeping Dogs.
I'm going to say the same thing I always say when people complain about GTA IV.
Expecting GTA IV to be more like GTA V is turning out would have been like expecting GTA 3 to be more like San Andreas.
They had to build the engine and perfect the system first. Now, they're free to play around with it. We saw the beginning of it in TBOGT.

I've got to a point in my gaming life where I no longer care about how pretty developers can make a game. All I want to see is some damn gameplay, and I don't mean something that looks like it was ripped from a tourist information video!

The amount of sheer man hours that goes into these 3D GTA games is unbelievable, and to think they are almost completely nullified by poor gameplay pacing and mechanics because of poor direction and input from the Houser brothers. a f*in shame.

After playing Sleeping Dogs, GTA V has a lot to live up to. Hopefully the missions are actually FUN and not centered around driving from point A to point B.
Looking good. I hope the story is better this time but my real interest is what they're doing with multiplayer. GTA IV was my favorite mp game until Red Dead came out. I want to see a bunch of te stuff from RDR implemented in V.

Hmm. Looks like they might finally be trying to balance the more serious tone of GTA IV with all the things you were able to do in San Andreas. They seemed to be moving in that direction with Gay Tony, and that's partly why it was my favorite story out of the three GTA IV campaigns.
And for all those complaining about not seeing gameplay, Rockstar never shows gameplay for GTA games. At least not in a very long time. We didn't even know what the HUD for GTA IV looked like until a day or two before the game was released. That's just how Rockstar does things. Come to terms with it and move on. The games are great so who gives a fuck.

OK, I played GTA IV quite a lot(mostly for the free roam multiplayer), but it was definitely a disappointment compared to San Andreas.
Now THIS has actually got me all excited for a new GTA again!

Seeing as we had two different days of screenshots maybe it means we are getting more info from now on, who knows.
There is information to be gleaned from the photos other than being eye porn.
The fighter jet being confirmed as one as it showed the main character in the cockpit, the dirt bikes going up mountains meaning maybe all terrain races in multiplayer also the fact that it could possibly mount chiliad they are riding up.
The fact that it is displaying lots of different transport meaning they are hinting there will be lots and lots of variety in transport (hoping hovercrafts return).
Personally I would love to see a return of the big vintage bomber plane that was in san andreas.
I think also that until we get more information on the game we cant make a valid opinion like someone did in these comments saying they arent gonna buy the game based on a vague trailer and only a short amount of screenshots.
They may be eating those words in a couple of months time but who knows.

I enjoyed both Saints Row 3 and Sleeping Dogs more than any GTA game, but obviously GTA laid the groundwork for those.
