Pat. Pat. Pat. EA is continuing its leaky faucet approach to roster reveals for its upcoming mixed-martial arts game EA MMA. Hours ago the publisher confirmed, via Twitter, three new digital brawlers for the game: Joachim Hansen, Josh Barnett, and Vladimir Matyushenko.
Interestingly all the three fighters all their own Twitter accounts, each of which was meticulously linked in the original reveal tweet. Vladimir -- colorfully known as Vlad the Janitor on the social Web site -- has by far the most interesting stuff. Take for example this dandy from March 8th, where the pugilist confirms that he not only trains in the mountains, but also inside a big bear. Talk about tough.

Randy has been in the UFC for years he was also in Pride but UFC bought Pride so maybe he did it on accident, you know I could picture Randy getting talked into signing a contract with EA.
Game looks good so far. Joachim Hansen is awesome, too.
MMA has mixed martial artists not "wrestlers".
Actually, there's no such thing as "mixed martial artists". Martial artists - yes, mixed - fuck no. Most of the fighters are primarily focused on one discipline, be it wrestling, boxing, bjj, muai thai or something else. And mostly they came from that particular sport to MMA and just learned some other moves, so they could defend themselves against an opponent with totally different style.
So they're martial artists.
As for the announcement itself, I am surprised by The Janitor since he is in the UFC. Pretty awesome though because he is pretty good. I hope they announce more DREAM fighters into the roster. The last DREAM event was awesome.
He does. And he's a martial artist. MMA is a sport where different martial artists compete against each other.

I really enjoyed UFC last year, the changes they're making this year sound great, but can EA out do them?

actually Randy Couture worked into his contract that he can promote himself with other brands. Its why he didn't fight for a year before the Lesnar fight.
Also, psssssh juiced up Josh Barnett does nothing for me in deciding if I want this game.

He can technically fight in America, his fighting license was suspended after the affliction juicing but he is now eligible to fight as long as he passes the test before hand. Rumor has it that an Alistair Overeem fight may be in the works for Barnett on a Strikeforce card
Also, regarding your Fedor comment, we'll never know because of his alignment with the slimy, parasitic so-called organization known as M-1 Global. One fight into their three fight Strikeforce contract, and they're already renegotiating? And Fedor won't fight until possibly August. This guy doesn't care about fighting the best or being known as the best...at least, not anymore.
@ Dhaos- That would be true if this was 1993. There are no pure BJJ fighters or karate fighters out there...at least not in major organizations.
Oh, and please tell me that Lyoto Machida is a "karate fighter" so that I may laugh heartily.

Seriously though, my comment about Fedor beating anyone in UFC, don't take it seriously, I was mainly talking about EA MMA being blatantly better then UFC.
It doesn't really matter anyway, because beyond Fedor, this game will only feature relative MMA nobodies compared to the names of the UFC.
Lessner,Mir,Dos Santos, and Cain V are all capable of beating Fedor. Fedor is ducking all the real competition and he only wants to fight like once a year. He didnt even dominate a guy who five years ago was working at a wal-mart changing tires.
Your argument has absolutly no foundation UFC undisputed was a really amazing game and it was a shock to everyone that the game turned out so good. THQ is going to make the game even better yet EA's MMA hasnt even been made yet.

I was just saying that Yuke's will not improve UFC 10 much over 09, because that's how they're doing their games. UFC suddenly became more popular franchise than wrestling, so it's their chance to make some munny.
They'll keep making UFCs each year with minimum changes, just adding new fighters and tweaking the mechanics a bit, that's just what they do, man.
