I hope you're sitting down, because the three minutes of Left 4 Dead 2 footage above is more incredible than I had thought it would be before I pressed play. And believe me, I had pretty high expectations. I'll also be honest, I don't know what it is -- the game's intro, a really expensive promo video, or a message from God. But when it's this awesome, who cares?
Left 4 Dead 2 ships in November, and I'm thinking about starting up a petition to get Valve to ship it next week. Who's with me?
@Infamy
I'm in the exact same situation as you, except add Dragon Age, Tekken, and a few DS games to that list. I won't even buy (much less play) MW2 until next June, probably.
Cool. I'm trying to keep myself from getting too excited about this game, though, so I'll just say that the trailer is cool.
I find that I always enjoy games more when I am less excited about them. I punched my brother for choosing to buy Oblivion instead of Gears of War when we first got our Xbox 360 (because it was an RPG and I hated RPGs because I thought they were all like Final Fantasy), and Oblivion is now my favorite game of all time. I had heard nothing about Too Human before I borrowed it from a friend for a while and ended up loving it, only to find out that every other gamer on Earth hated it. I guess what I'm trying to say is STOP GETTING ME EXCITED ABOUT LEFT 4 DEAD 2, GODDAMMIT.
I know it will be a good game. It's made by Valve, and it's a sequel to one of my favorite games of last year. But if I can keep myself from getting very excited I will be even more pleased by the game. The same happened for me with Oblivion, Mass Effect, Too Human, Fable II, and Left 4 Dead.
Ha ha, sounds like a plan. For me, the hype train is freaking bullet-training its way across...whatever hype trains cross. So this game better be downright MINDBLOWING.
Destructoid is an open discussion community. You don't need to "audition" to post a comment - just speak your mind. We respect differing opinions on the site, so have at it. Be smart, funny, insightful, clueless, or cute -- but back it up with substance. Keep your cool, keep it fun. We only ask that you act respectfully and above all: don't be a troll and ruin it for everyone else. Don't bring down gamers or we'll, you know, gently shoot you in the face and stuff you into a flaming mailbox. Each comment is your opportuntity to make this community awesomer. Is that even a word?
Avoiding the banhammer only requires common sense: spamming, trolling, racism, NSFW stuff, and other forms of sucking will not be tolerated. If anyone is griefing please report abuse. Be good. Don't suck!
..and with Mass Effect 2 in Jan and Splinter Cell in Feb, probably won't be playing MW2 next year, neither..
Well. that just happened. Hooly shit.
I vote message from God. He wants us to kill all son's o' bitches.

If you liked L4D1 I'm pretty sure you'll like L4D2. SO GET EXCITED (maybe? :P).
I am freaking so excited for this game I can't wait. Valve knows how to make awesome games.
Kill all sons of bitches.
I am getting this game asap. Dipps on Coach!

Damn damn damn.
And here I was hoping to just exist on Borderlands and Dragon Age: Origins till next year.
Now I have something else to buy.
Woe is the life of a gamer.
Fuck the haters!
And Nick is the new Francis.
