After some legal squabble that surely involved many lawyers, THQ is finally ready to release a Tetris game for the Xbox 360. What's going to be so special you ask? How about different skins, music, themes and four-player multiplayer? Does that perk your ears up a bit? Oh, and this online Tetris won't include clumsy friend codes. From GameSpot: Today the publisher exercised those rights with the announcement of Tetris Evolution for Microsoft's console, the first THQ-published Tetris game since 2003's Tetris Worlds on the original Xbox. As for what the title's evolution entails, THQ said it is adding new gameplay modes, customizable presentation aspects (themes, skins, icons, and music), and online play for up to four players.
Tetris Evolution is set to be released next month.

Guaranteed to have terrible bgm.
doesn't seem like a game better suited for the XBLA? I have zero interest in going out and buying a Tetris game, but for 5 to 10 bucks, now I'm considering it.
so I'm thinking $60 + microtransactions = you don't need to buy this game again.
Unless its Korobieniki
Thats a tune
THQ was originally gonna release this on DS but they left it and then Nintendo released it
lol @ mega64 pic
what about co-op tetris? two people on one screen... two blocks drop at the same time.... just let that sink in.
Sure, it'll avoid friend codes, but it'll also avoid all that lovely Nintendo nostalgia. I'll stick with Tetris DS, thank you very much. (Avoiding the fact that I don't have a 360.)
Tetris DS, I didn't use FC's at all. Just random matching. That was fine for me.
Also, this is not Tetris, this is some hackneyed game that plays like Tetris and has the Tetris name on it, but the only Tetris games I ever consider buying have Elorg AND Nintendo on the label.
Probably will lack TGM-style gameplay and only have the broken SRS gameplay. Unless a Tetris game is from Arika (which is Japan only) any new licensed Tetris game is almost guaranteed to only have SRS. Also, I prefer my Tetris games on Nintendo systems (or other platforms if they're free, like Lockjaw).
Tetris doesn't require Wiimote adaptation. I hope they don't screw up something pretty much unscrewuppable.
HA. Nice one, Bleep.
(Does this work?)
