The Charred Council has saw fit to release Darksiders. Earlier this afternoon, THQ announced that the post-apocalyptic action game is available in retail outlets across the US right now for the Xbox 360 and PS3.
This is the first game created by Vigil Games, THQ’s internal studio. In Sarkar’s preview for the inaugural title, he mentioned that its creative director (and the studio’s co-founder) is Joe Madureira, a comic book veteran who hasn’t shied from tossing his influences into the game. In Sarkar’s words, “you’ll see Gothic and demonic architecture juxtaposed with extant modern human buildings.”
We’ll let you know how we like Darksiders once we spend some time with the retail build. But for those of you who ran to GameStop this afternoon, feel free to tell us what you think in the comments section.

Destructoid is an open discussion community. You don't need to "audition" to post a comment - just speak your mind. We respect differing opinions on the site, so have at it. Be smart, funny, insightful, clueless, or cute -- but back it up with substance. Keep your cool, keep it fun. We only ask that you act respectfully and above all: don't be a troll and ruin it for everyone else. Don't bring down gamers or we'll, you know, gently shoot you in the face and stuff you into a flaming mailbox. Each comment is your opportuntity to make this community awesomer. Is that even a word?
Avoiding the banhammer only requires common sense: spamming, trolling, racism, NSFW stuff, and other forms of sucking will not be tolerated. If anyone is griefing please report abuse. Be good. Don't suck!

Started out alittle weak but still interesting but after the first "dungeon" i was totally hooked.
Awesome game sofar and a really good start for 2010 :D
I had no idea!
I've just seen a lot of good games flop under THQ because their US marketing department is a bunch of retards. THQ Europe marketing is good, the US THQ marketing = turd sandwich.
Seriously, I was sold on the art style alone. Here's hoping a Dtoid review shows up soon.
Uh...
As for this game, I didn't even know it was out today, but it's been something I've been following since it was announced. I'm glad to hear it's a good game so far.
so much worth it:)
superior from bayonetta
I haven't encountered that problem on the PS3 version.
Damn you Demon's Souls!!! I know what you mean, sadly.
Got Darksiders last night and I'm wavering on the decision.
Couldnt have said it better myself. Runs and plays smooth, controls are tight and very responsive. My only gripe.. if that. is the anti aliasing on War himself (PS3) version. Could be my setup, but at times War appears fairly jagged, doesnt quite mesh well with the surroundings.
Other than that.. kudos to Vigil. Keep the hotness coming.
Uh, okay. Be sure to keep us updated. Are you in the parking lot yet? And mark the time when you first load up the disk please.
@anyone else playing it:
I saw one guy saying he didn't see any...can anyone else confirm the screen tearing issue on PS3? I know it has it on 360, so no need to tell me that. But if one game is running smoother on the other console, well, I have both consoles and obviously want to get the better running version.
Thanks in advance anyone who can back up if the PS3 version is running better, equal or worse.
Can't say I noticed any such tearing on my end, put in about 2-1/2 to 3 hours so far, so I couldnt say if its something in later parts of the game. Will have to make a conscious effort later tonight to see if it happens.
