THQ reveals first UFC Undisputed 2010 details photo

Following the reveal that Brock Lesnar would be the cover boy for its upcoming UFC Undisputed 2010, THQ has revealed the first details for the follow-up to last year's hit title.

In the gameplay department, Undisputed 2010 adds a new "Sway System" which offers full upper body and head control, as well as a new ground "Posture System." New moves and cage positions have been added to the mix as well, including moves from Sambo, Karate, and Greco-Roman Wrestling, in addition to the new Southpaw stance.

Also new to Undisputed 2010 will be the ability to form fight camps and leagues, training your players and then taking them online in a "virtual UFC world." The Career Mode will return, including a new "Game Is Watching You" system that will take note of your actions and influence in-game commentary, opponent A.I., and other elements of career progression. The aforementioned online fight camps and leagues will also be integrated with the career -- you'll be able to engage in co-op sparring sessions with others in your camp to increase cred, popularity. Sponsorships are apparently influenced by player interactions during "on-camera" interviews and weigh-ins.

Outside of the career, the game adds three new modes: Title Mode, where you'll simply fight through a weight class and then defend your title; a Title Defense Mode; and a Tournament Mode that will let you fight in a 16-player individual or team tournament locally.

UFC Undisputed 2010 ships on May 25, which a few days shy of just a year after the last game's release, which hit shelves on May 19, 2009 in North America.

Sounds great, loved the last one, will likeyl buy this - just to smack people up the face till they bust open and bleed all over the place.

Something attractive about bloody, brutal violence.

You pretty much miss the entire point of MMA then SC.
It's a Sport, Not sponsored violence.

Sounds like an improvement, will keep an eye out for a demo...

I enjoy it as a sport, but i do love to see people's faces busted up.

I use the UFC games as a way of venting anger, nothing like coming home from work and beating a virtual face to a pulp.

@aurain

I'm a huge mma fan. A big part of the sport is violence and it is sponsered. You miss the point and I miss the days when the ufc was rule and glove free. No weight classes. Just 2 guys beating the shit out of each other:)

Also I know it's an art form and it takes skill but it is quite simply one of the most violent sports in the world.

Is it worth it to get the first one now that it's a Platinum Hit or should I wait for the new one?

Wait for the new one or EA MMA. Ufc 2009 has some technical issues that hold it back from being a true representation of the sport.

@Videodrone
But if they are to believed it sounds like most of those technical issues are being addressed this time around. You honestly believe that EA will be able to not fuck their version up hard?

Wow, I'm happy with the list of improvements...seems like they did a lot of things that I wished that they had accomplished with the first one. It'll be interesting to see how well they implement being able to control your head and upper body.

lots of neat stuff. Can't wait for the demo.

I hope they fix the ground game, kinda really broke the game online. It was pretty much how fast you could twirl the analogue rather than skill, or if your guy was a good submission artist etc.

that said this looks fantastic- but come on thq, base the career mode on your own season of the ultimate fighter
