THQ looks at Red Faction's 'origin' and 'armageddon' photo

We know a new Red Faction title is on the way, but now we know it could potentially focus on the series' beginnings… or its end.

Two domains have been registered by THQ earlier this year -- redfactionarmageddon.com and redfactionorigins.com. Actually, five domains were registered, three additional domains with "alternate spellings" -- "origin," "armagedon," and "armegeddon." Nice one, THQ. Wouldn't want someone snapping those up and putting "destruction porn" ads all over it. (That's a thing, right?)

The next Red Faction game may be revealed at this year's E3; whether it has the words "origin" or "armageddon" in the title remains to be seen.

I hate red faction but i will say that the destruction in the last game was really awesome. THQ cant spell O_o.....maybe thats why they are only 3 letters.

Wait a minute aren’t the bad guys in Red Faction the Ultor Corporation? And isn’t it hinted that it’s the same Ultor Corporation from Saints Row? If they do an origin story does that mean we could get some sort of crossover game!?!

........a man can dream.

I loved the way the last game played, but it's story wasn't as appealing :\ Still, disintegration rifles and det packs and hammers ahoy!

I loved RF:G but the little I've read about the sequel has me a little worried. I read somewhere that 80% takes place under ground. Who knowns maybe they'll still manage to preserve the open feeling underground. They did right with Guerrilla so I'll give them the benifit of the doubt.

@ HarassmentPanda:

On the planet where one has to assume that the title is "Origins" not "Origin."

In any event, I changed the wording to make it more clear and "accurate." Carry on.

Also, here's a rumor I heard about the new Red Faction, to make up for my horrible mistake: "magnet gun." That is all.

A while back...might have been Game Informer...but an interview with one of the guys at Volition talked about and you're right, it's the same Ultor Corporation as in Saints Row 2, but in the future.
The one thing I remember is he said a vague "Who knows? Maybe we'll crossover someday. You never know."
Your comment sprung it back to mind.
But in the interview it was just kind of the guy thinking out loud, not an actual hint...I don't think.
Still, hold onto the dream! It's more likely, eventually, than you think.
