This week on Xbox LIVE Arcade: Qix++ photo

You remember Qix, right? That great old game where you draw lines, trying to fill the majority of a stage while not getting hit by the annoying squiggly line monster and its minions. It was and still is loads of fun, especially if you happen to be a big risk taker.

"Watch this. I'm going to beat the level using a single line. Come on, come on, 90% of the way there ... 95% ... s**t! The Qix (the unpredictable stick thing) really is one of the most overlooked videogame villains. Its only goal in life is to destroy your hopes and dreams of successfully drawing lines. So cruel.

I love the game, and if everything goes according to plan, I'll probably enjoy Qix++ when it hits Xbox LIVE Arcade this Wednesday. It's going for 800 Microsoft Points, which may actually be justified -- the few screenshots I've seen look radically newish.

Unless of course it's all recycled additions used in an updated Qix from a collection of Taito games I missed out on. In that case, well ... I'll still probably buy this release anyway.

I liked Gals Panic, and I had hoped that someone would bring those game mechanics here.

I have this for the original Gameboy! Too bad it won't have the Mexican Mario in it :(

Actually I guess I really sucked at the game because I didn't know you would see him in other settings from around the world when you scored higher haha.

Loved that game! So addictive. Any chance it'll be showing up on PSN in the future?

I was *this close* to commenting about Mexican Mario being in the Game Boy version. I still have my copy.

They could release the Atari 5200 version of Qix for all I'm concerned. Fuck yeah, Qix.

Any game that had a pronunciation key on the front of the box is an instant win in my book.

An embarassingly large percentage of my college funds ended up in a Qix machine....

800 MS points? Don't think so...I'm a bit more stingy with my cash now (or it's just easier to rob me 25 cents at time).

I have no idea how many versions of this game I've played involving revealing naked/sexy pictures. It has to be in the area of 5.

My list of XBLA games I still need to buy just keeps growing.
