Damn, is it Monday already? According to Nintendo, it is. And after last week's pathetic single offering, they're back on schedule with three titles of varying classic-osity. Because that's a word now.
Perhaps you'd be interested in the fur flying antics of Star Fox 64 (Nintendo 64, 1-4 players, 1000 points). Maybe you're more in the mood to party down with the Ultra Games nut-clenching classic, Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles (NES, 1 player, 600 points). Or maybe, you're more interested in Dragon's Curse (TurboGrafx-16, 1 player, 600 points), which I've never played, but from the description, sounds like an overwhelmingly awesome experience.
The hero starts as Lizard-Man but, upon defeating the dragon bosses, is changed into other creatures such as Mouse-Man, Piranha-Man, Tiger-Man and Hawk-Man.
Sounds like a drinking game waiting to happen. Hit the jump for the full press release.
Wii-kly Update: Three New Classic Games Announced for Wii Shop Channel
Today Nintendo adds three classic games to the popular Wii(TM) video game
system's Wii Shop Channel. The games go live at 9 a.m. Pacific time.
Nintendo adds new games to the channel every Monday. Wii owners with a
high-speed Internet connection can redeem Wii Points(TM) to download the
games. Wii Points can be purchased in the Wii Shop Channel or at retail
outlets. This week's new games are:
Star Fox(R) 64 (Nintendo(R) 64, 1-4 players, 1,000 Wii Points): Players
take the controls of their Arwing and complete 15 missions to reach the final
objective: a showdown on Venom, the home planet of the interplanetary tyrant,
Andross. Throughout the adventure, players have to accomplish challenging
objectives in order to reach and conquer every mission. Skim over the surface
of an alien sea, weave through the concrete canyons of a futuristic metropolis
or dodge planetoids the size of mountains. Between missions, players will be
treated to real-time 3-D movies that progress the story of the Star Fox team
of space mercenaries in their struggle against the evil ape emperor, Andross.
Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles(R) (NES(R), 1 player, 600 Wii Points):
Cowabunga! Players take control of the turtles in a half shell and rescue
reporter April O'Neil from the clutches of the evil Shredder. Battle against
the Foot Ninja Clan as Leonardo, Michaelangelo, Donatello and Raphael with
their trademark weapons and ninja abilities. Search through five stages and
dozens of areas throughout the New York City sewers, rooftops and ultimately
Shredder's Technodrome to save April. Players must scarf down some pizza to
keep up their energy, as they'll need it to defeat Shredder. Turtle Power!

Dragon's Curse (TurboGrafx16, 1 player, 600 Wii Points): After defeating
the Mecha Dragon in the depths of the Dragon Castle, the wounded beast casts a spell on the hero, turning him into an ugly creature. To return to human
form, he must find the Salamander Cross, which can break any curse. This
side-scrolling action role-playing game is nonlinear, allowing players to
venture freely. Collect gold and items while upgrading equipment and powering
up stats. The hero starts as Lizard-Man but, upon defeating the dragon
bosses, is changed into other creatures such as Mouse-Man, Piranha-Man,
Tiger-Man and Hawk-Man. Each creature possesses distinct abilities such as
the ability to fly, swim, walk on ceilings or cling to walls. Players use
each creature's special skills to widen your search for the Salamander Cross
and bring the hero back to his human form!
WTF is Dragon's Curse? Good? Where's Keith Courage?

Hi,
This is Mahima,
I gone through this website. It is dealing with WOW games. This is very interesting and useful to the Video gamers. We have a site which deals with video games Exploits, Secrets, Guides, Strategies and more
I'm getting me some starfox 64. I swear I had a dream last night that it was available.
i wish they released TMNT: Turtles in Time for SNES.
600 points it is. Sorry for the confusion and no, I don't know why a NES game is 600 points.
My cart was stolen years ago, and I'm hankering for a fix. Now just bring f-zero x, mystical ninja starring goemon and majora's mask, and I shall be happy indeed.
it's a remixed version of the 3rd Wonder boy game from the Sega Master System (the prequel to the Sega Genesis Wonder Boy game that will be comming to he VC very soon as well)
This game was the "Zelda" of Sega games (plays alot like Zelda 2 actually)
The Nerd also stuck it to Castlevania II, and, I mean, it's not the best game, but it's nowhere near the worst. Now Dr. Jekyll and Mr. Hyde was TOTALLY justified.
Is 1,000 points = $10? If so, Ninty can keep SF64. That's insanity.
I've kinda ignoring the VC releases knowing that when the times comes, all the classic goodness will be there waiting for the day when there aint a fucking thing being released for any of the next-gen consoles
It will be bliss...BLISS i tell you
Yeah, $10 for a great game that retailed for at least $50 when it came out is a total ripoff compared to getting it for free.
although the "story" for the Dragon's Curse version is kinda bleh,
What i loved about Wonder boy III was the fact that it STARTED at the last boss of wonderboy II (although, much easier)
It explains why you're already in this castle when you start the game.
It's a decent game, Jesus. He just acts like he sucks at it for laughs.
Zackly!
I don't pay that much for "great" games on XBLA, generally, SOTN being an exception, which, in my opinion, owns SF64's face all over the road. Remember that "when it came out" was, like, a million years ago. Pocket calculators were hundreds of dollars once upon a time. Now, they're a buck. Relax.
