This week in Rock Band DLC: The Pixies and Weezer photo

Is it okay that I'm ten times more excited about the access I will soon have to download any track from The Pixies' excellent Doolittle for my Rock Band enjoyment than I am about three new Weezer tracks from their self-titled "red album"? Not that I don't dig Weezer ... but let's be honest here, I have what might be (nicely) described as a "borderline unhealthy" obsession with The Pixies. Total bias, hard at work.

If you are digging Weezer's recent self-titled release, however, you will be happy to know that come June 24th, you can snag "The Greatest Man That Ever Lived," "Dreamin'" and "Troublemaker" for $1.99 apiece (160 Microsoft points) or $5.49 for the three-song pack (440 Microsoft points).

I may download some of those eventually, but I have admit, I'm disappointed not to see "Pork and Beans" on there. Sigh. Too bad for me.

Oh my god, so we get Weezer as a bonus to the fantastic Pixies album. That's amazing.
I will buy both.

17 tracks in one week.
That's...
...wow. A bit overwhelming if I do say so myself,
but great news none-the-less.

How 'bout some good Weezer songs? "Dreamin" is ok but I'd much rather be rocking "Across the Sea" or "No One Else".

The Greatest Man That Ever Lived will be the best song in any music game ever.

Cool!

If only we could download some sort of time machine to stop the creation of every album since pinkerton!

I demand Bossanova.

YES!
Weezer AND Pixies?
Is this a late birthday present Harmonix?
Not sure if I will pick up all of Doolittle though. My roomates are not as keen on my music choices. Might pick and chose. Also reminds me that I haven't gotten the new Weezer cd.

@thelowestpartisfree
I would seriously pay anything to get Pinkerton on Rock Band. Hell, I would pay $10 just to get Across the Sea.

Well it looks like I'll be forking over some more money for songs for a copy of Rock Band that isn't mind. God, I fucking love Weezer! I haven't gotten the new album yet, though.

I was actually listening to The Red Album when I read about this. I've been outmaneuvered, and Harmonix will be delivered my surrendered monies.

Weezer's new album sucks raw ass. Still, at least they chose three of the album's least painful songs. Weezer and the Pixies are always a perfect combination. Listen to Weezer's old cover of "Velouria" for further evidence.

Seriously? I've only listened to a few songs from the Red Album, and only once, and they didn't leave an impression. "Pork and Beans" is only memorable to me because of the music video and the catchy opening notes, but still, why is it not there? It's the song that people at least know and want.

The Weezer selections need more "In My Garage". I definitely plan on getting Doolittle though.

I was scared for a moment that I might actually have to spend more money this coming week. Luckily, they picked Weezer's new songs and not more stuff off the Blue Album or Pinkerton.

Blue album >>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>> everything else Weezer has ever done. Though, Doolittle sounds pretty sweet.

@Mxyzptlk

I second the 'In the Garage' request. Also maybe we could get Island in the Sun. Always good to rock that song out while wasted at a BBQ in summer.

I'd give almost anything to be able to play the "In The Garage" solo in Rock Band... and in real life, too.
