That's right, Toidertots, we've got next week's rock offerings a couple days early. On July 8th (the 10th for you PSTriple-ites) Harmonix is serving up a delicious rock stew featuring Red Hot Chili Peppers tracks "Snow ((Hey Oh))" and "Tell Me Baby", as well as Rush tracks "Closer to the Heart" and "Working Man." Each track is $1.99 (160 Microsoft points) and all tracks are masters.

You read right: Harmonix has managed to wrangle a master version of "Working Man." Not only a master, but a master with an alternate solo that has yet to be released publicly. Those of you that count themselves among the cult of Geddy Lee fans may need a moment to clean up the results of the pants-wetting excitement you just experienced. In the mean time, enjoy an intimate performance of "Closer to the Heart" featuring the musical stylings of none other than Bubbles himself.

Rockfellow, no it is not free. It is a completely different version of the song with a different solo that has not been released anywhere else.

Those Chili Pepper Tracks are AMAZING. Seriously, vocals will be a blast, and it'll be nice to see a slower song.

How about some Bowie non covers and My Sharona while they are at it.. I will be forced to get this even though I already have the cover too.. F bastards. How bout they give us 2112 for 1.99 if they want to make up for it.. (Yes, that is Rush's longest track clocking in at over 20 minutes)

I'm miffed that I purchased the inferior cover of "Working Man" some months ago. But the fact that HMX snagged a master version that's never even been heard is pretty amazing. My wallet is angry, but they'll have my money. It's likely when they released the cover they didn't have or couldn't get the master; I'd rather them release this now that they have it rather than skip it altogether. If there was a way they could just replace the old version with the new so we could re-download it ...

I would also love some Radiohead, but Im pretty happy this week. Considering this is new school Peppers, they picked some good ones, and Give it Away is apparently in RB2, so that will be super fun.

Rush masters are something I know a lot of people wanted, so thats cool.

I haven't seen so much whining over 2 bucks since Better Off Dead...why don't you start an online petition or make half-baked proclamations about class-action lawsuits while you're at it?
