Destructoid is gaming news, community, videos, and sometimes love. Take the tour or jump in with Facebook:

When you take into consideration how I skateboarded off of an exploding parking garage while being chased by a runaway UPS truck full of bears only to land in one of those portable swimming pool trucks, saying how this hide and seek mod for Team Fortress 2 was the highlight of my week means something.

First thing is first, credit goes to Shacknews for finding the crazy thing. What makes the mod so great is that you aren't just hiding your character on various maps -- instead, you are a prop, and you have to position yourself in a believable way so you don't get found.

By the way, you absolutely have to see this mod in action before you brush it off. To be more specific, check out the epic frog chase about halfway through the clip.

OMG. This is why I love TF2 so much. First "Rocket Dodgeball", then "Randomizer", now this.

God, one of the funniest damn videos I've seen in some time. LMAO. Absolute genius modding right there. Nothing better than chasing inanimate objects with flamthrowers ^_^

Only problem is you apparently need a server dedicated for Hide & Seek specifically. A lot of plugins are required and all.

My clan mates and I used to play hide and seek on our server. Good times, good times.

Looks like a fun mod, but I don't really play anymore. And when I do, I play alone on some random server.

It's much better in Garry's Mod, as you can taunt and the props actually fit in with the environment, plus you get less/more health depending on how big you are.

Hiding as a keyboard in snow on cs_office shouting THIS IS SPARTA whilst confused hunters search for you and spam SMG's is the best thing ever :)

But yeah this (Prop Hunt) has been out for about 3 years now :P

This originated on G-Mod. The prop hunt server there is better IMO, no cheap flamethrower to use.

Just an FYI: I believe this is a Garry's Mod minimod that requires TF2 content, not a mod in TF2 itself.

Prophunt is common in Gmod.

@TonicBH
It's a mod in TF2 itself as well.

You just join a PropHunt server in TF2 and blue team spawns as prop scouts, red team spawns as pyros. Whenever you shoot as pyro you lose health, so you cant just spam flamethrower all over the place.

This is actually quite a bit old. It's based off the post-game mini-game for Day of Defeat: Source and it's a mod for servers, not a separate game. The server I played on even debated adding this (eventually, we sadly said no).

If that's tl;dr for you: OOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOLD.

Reminds me of Suicide Survival.
You played a bush, in a field of bushes, and you could explode.
The enemy team stopped you by throwing books at you.

Looks awesome, but I have two questions.

1) Are the maps randomly generated? By that I mean, can people memorize the map so even if you hide as best you can they can pretty much tell you're a prop?

2) Do people fight over hiding places?

This looks like hilarious fun, except that it would need something like L4D's AI director to randomize the props in a level so that people couldn't just memorize where things should or shouldn't be.

The frogs, the toaster (Brave Little Toaster on the invisible ledge), the Red Chair (I laughed like hell when I saw it), and the Cactus were all made of win. I am downloading this ASAP.
