Console modder Tchay has given us the gift of a sick-ass portable GameCube this Christmas season. Now, we've seen plenty of hardware mods in the past, but not many are presented as a glamor reel / music video! Tchay did a bang-up job of editing some game footage (as played on the device, of course) to sync with "Thunderstruck" from the recent Zelda tribute album 25YEARLEGEND.
Behold, The Envision! Most of the games on parade are Zelda titles, but there is some ResiEvil, Beyond Good & Evil, Metroid Prime, and others as well. There are even a few N64 titles, which should give you an idea of the extent of the device's capabilities. In fact, this baby doesn't even run off discs at all! Using Wiikey Fusion, all the games run off an SD card!
Always happy to see such ingenuity in the gamer community. Good job, Tchay!

Hey, at 33 seconds he's got Super Mario 64 on there, in good graphics... Did they do something on the GameCube that I totally glazed over, making my life meaningless?
Also, as much as I like this, I can't help but admire the Fusion Micro more -- An entire GameCube in a PSP case!
I wish I could buy this. Also I wonder how he is running those games, if it's emulation, I'm really surprised there's enough processing power in there to have smooth gameplay.
You know, I don't think it was a "bang-up" job on that medley/remix/whatsit. I think it's overwrought and annoying. At least this track. Too much work stretching it out and modifying. Minimalism can do wonders.
Portable Gamecube>Wii U. It looks so much better in design, especially the analog sticks and bigger buttons, and I dig the games on SD cards.
As much as I'm enjoying my 3DS I sort of wish they'd made the Wii-U controller the console itself, made it portable so you can take it around with you like a tablet and still let it communicate wirelessly with some sort of box so you could do the whole gaming on the go and at home that the Vita promises with "transfarring". That would've been a big step in innovation, and personally would've made me more hyped for it as a console.
You beat me to it pedrovay2003, I was looking at the Fusion Micro earlier, and I think I like that one more than The Envision. I have no idea of the capabilities of this particular mod console, but I do know that you can use cartridges to emulate almost every other console on the market sans 360 if you wanted to do so.
Damn, I know the 'Cube doesn't have the world's most stellar library, but was it really necessary to keep showing the same ten or so games, half of which are for the N64?
At least show that Kirby game so that Jim might say this one doesn't send us to hell.

Yeah, I just found that handheld a couple days ago. I can't believe how compact it is.

Whoops, sorry, I stand corrected. I do think it's better than the Wii-U controller, though.
