Ok, so I was looking forward to this before, just by its pedigree and nature. I wasn't actually expecting much from it in terms of story or gameplay, but now this actually has my hopes up a bit that it will actually be a good game and not just a pretty one.

Looks impressive. I'm not a fan of their cartoons, but this game's been on my radar for a long time.
This is my first big look at the game. And while that anime cutscene wasn't super amazing, the rest of the trailer was. Man.

This man's got it right. I don't know if this games mechanics will be that different or that much more engaging than your average JRPG, but the pedigree of those who're making it, Level 5 and Studio Ghibli, the richness of the environments and the sheer charm it exudes overrides all reason. I'm getting myself this game- no question about it.

First I was all like "why people so cray cray on dis one?" Sure I enjoy Ghibl's animation... but I didn't get it..
then I was like "ow. my nuts" because they exploded when I watched this. DAT MUSIC.
This'll be a nice 'change of pace' RPG for me after all my Skyrimz and Witcherz....

Hate to be the sourpuss on this, but I really hated the lantern guy's voice. Goofy Disney character stereotype in a Ghibli production? Yuck!
The dub sounds really good. I have the Japanese DS version and Shizuku sounds identical to his Japanese voice (really deep and gravely) but now has the addition of sounding like a rough Brit.
I don't think the lightbulb guy being Welsh is a cheesy stereotype thing. It think it's a clever nod to the fact that Howl is Welsh in the novel of Howl's Moving Castle. Ghibli localizers are pretty good at finding British voice actors.
I've got so many games to play, I actually can wait.

This may be my best chance at getting my wife back into gaming. Wish it were coming out this summer when she'd have a lot of spare time.

Hope this game's a hit. Late in the lifecycle of a console is the best time for a really big budget, well localized JRPG. The mainstream actually might pay some attention to it.
It seems to be very similar to Dragon Quest 8 in more than just the graphical style (seriously, compare the flying and boat scenes in the trailer to screens from DQ8, it's uncanny). I was already sold based on the Studio Ghibli pedigree, and it doesn't hurt that it seems so similar to such a great franchise.
