Seriously the XL and NSMB2 are DONE FINISHED, READY TO GO. but I can't give nintendo my $240 now, no they need to generate buzz and mail one to Jim so he can rub his greasy paws all over it then toss it aside with a "meh".

But yeah... a giant Boo has been done many times now, so the only new thing about this is the stupid looking face.

Ok, so it isn't a great change but it will still be fun to play and is much more inovative than COD.
Super Mario World?
Yoshi's Island?
Super Mario 64?
Super Mario Galaxy?
Super Mario 3D Land?
I think the problem is, for me at least, that they've taken the Modern Warfare approach. This looks like New SMB, with slight changes. Comparing Black Ops 2 to Modern Warfare 3 (or any of the Treyarch games to the Infinity Ward games for that matter) brings forward more differences than New SMB and New SMB2.
I was tired of the artstyle of this after the first New SMB game, and I really would like something that had an ORIGINAL amount of charm to it, like SMB3 or Super Mario World, not this recycled, repeatedly rehashed sameyness. I like to play mario games that have a level of nostalgia, but still manage to bring something new to the table, this just seems to be nostalgia for the sake of it.
