This month in XBL: Games on Demand, Avatar clothes, more photo

What's happening this month in the fascinating world of Xbox LIVE? A bunch of little things that perfectly add up to be enough material for a single press release. God bless the art of filler content.

In Avatar-related news, there are more outfits on the way: "original styles" from the 80's (September 10), "urban culture" (the 17th), and Forza Motorsport 3-themed duds on the 24th.

Things get quite a bit more exciting when it comes to this month's deals. The Deal of the Week games are Lode Runner on September 14, Pinball FX on the 21st, and then Guitar Hero World Tour's top ten downloadable songs will be 50% off at some point during September.

And as for Games on Demand, the latest batch includes Sid Meier’s Civilization Revolution (Sept. 8), FIFA Street 3 (the 15th), Shaun White Snowboarding (the 22nd), and lastly, there's the first episode of Fable II, which releases on the 29th for absolutely free.

Like I said, nothing substantial, but as a group, this stuff almost seems noteworthy. Almost.

Ergh! The GHWT sale only reaffirms how stupid it is that out of the 500+ tracks RB still NEVER has any sales. Why? Why!?

I'll probably pick up Lode Runner when it goes on sale.

Something tells me that Lode Runner will be a waste of money. It's a good thing I didn't buy it back when it launched.

@Tdiddy9182
This is Microsoft. It's safe to say that they'll cost money.

Surely the premium clothes will cost you a little but there will be a reasonable collection of things they let you play around with? I wish we on PSN could have our Home avatars on our XMB panel. My dudes look so rad, but real friends never get to see them. I've never paid for clothes for my PS avatar, but if I got to have one (or more) of them on the XMB screen like on 360 I would probably be a lot more tempted to go into Home and pay for some choice items.

Holy Taco, I read an article on Dtoid that Sony is planning a update that will allow that.

Random question: When are we supossed to get the avatar prizes? I'm not in the mood to pay any kind of money for avatar clothes but it would be nice to play for unlock them. Why can't I find any information about this at gameblog news? Isn't people interested in this promised feature?

Holy shit, Taco. That's the funniest thing I've read all week.

Wait, did I say funniest?I meant dumbest. Yeah that's right. Suggestng that MS and Sony get together for something as useless as avatars is dumb.

Damn, those Deals of the Week are kinda shitty.

While resisting the obvious "dumbest thing I've ever read" joke, I'm gonna let you know that you read Holy Taco's message totally wrong. He is suggesting that Sony allow PS3 users to display their Home avatars on their XMB. He never mentions anything about a Sony and MS collaboration.
