This Metal Gear Rex figure is simply amazing photo

Sister site Tomopop brings us word of a Metal Gear Solid Rex figure on the way from 3A toys. The photos come from a poster on Toyark and not much is known about the toy other than that it's bad ass looking. It's being speculated that the figure will be over a foot high and again, it looks bad ass.

Rex, for those of you that don't know and to fluff up this post with another paragraph, served as the back drop for the final battle in Metal Gear Solid with Solid Snake, Liquid Snake and Revolver Ocelot. Tomopop speculates that this is the Metal Gear Solid 4 version of Rex judging by the weathered paint. I'll take Jason's word for it as I've never played any of the Metal Gears

Yeah yeah, I'll get to them one of these days. Until then, get a better look at the figure from the links above. Did I mention how bad ass it looks?

I would love to get me one of these. I'm a huge MGS fan! So much so that it pains me to not have been able to play MGS4 yet, due to the lack of a PS3. That might all be changing in the near future, however...

Can something look so cool and yet suck so much? All it takes is one man with a missile launcher to take down a billion dollar machine.

Your call, but I'd drop what you're playing and start working through MGS. Even when the gameplay rarely does suck or when the story frequently doesn't make sense, it's a powerful experience.

I'd rid of everything on my desk to get that there and would gladly drop the required cash for it.
But only if it meant I could still go to PAX next time around

Rail gun is still intact and the Ray Dome isn't shot to shit. It's the MGS1 Rex.

IT'S NOTHING BUT A NUCLEAR-EQUIPPED, WALKING DEATH MOBILE!!

Looks cool, but I'm guessing it'll come as a garage kit. Meaning you need to build it yourself.

I normally don't spring for models, but I would definitely be willing to spend my hard-earned cash on that.

If that's under two hundred dollars it's bought. I have a collection of MGS toys that no one knows I have, buried deep in my closet that I only pull out when I'm bummed.

Yes, MGS is my porn.

Did I mention how you should mention how bad ass it looks?

The clear lack of MGS knowledge by Aziz shines all the more when you realize Revolver Ocelot had NO part in the climactic battle of the original MGS, contrary to the article's claims.

@Solid Squirrel: glad someone else noticed the lack of knowledge in MGS :P but the Ocelot thing is not the only thing he messed up. He mentions"Tomopop speculates that this is the Metal Gear Solid 4 version of Rex judging by the weathered paint.", but that's blatantly wrong, bcos the version of Rex used in MGS4 all battered up, with the radar broken (that disk-thing on the left shoulder), and the laser on the right is completely destroyed... all bcos of the battle with it in the first MGS

well ok either way, I NEED this :D

let's play 'spot the differences'! XD now THAT's the version of Rex used in MGS4

I wonder if the cockpit can close. I understand that they left it open to give the Rex a more "dinosaur"-like look, but I like my robots to look like robots and always found the roaring and flailing to be mind-numbingly silly. And don't give me that "psychological warfare" BS either. They could do that by blasting "Never Gonna Give You Up" through the external speakers.
