For me, and I imagine a fair number of you good people, LEGO Rock Band started life as "that game with Europe's 'The Final Countdown' in it." Next, the ability to export its full library of songs became apparent.

Then, we started seeing LEGO minifig versions of popular musicians. They even got Queen, guys. For some reason, unlike Kurt Cobain's controversial appearance in Guitar Hero 5, this move was somehow the greatest thing devised by mankind.

It was at this moment when I realized I would be purchasing LEGO Rock Band. The video above, which you have most likely already watched prior to reading this, shows footage of four songs, including "The Final Countdown." Although, you have my permission to watch it twice, if you'd like.

Thank God they didn't make Lego Tom Petty look too much like Human Tom Petty. That'd be a fucking ugly Lego.

I have a strange urge to kick people in the groin after watching that. Odd.

Tom Petty? Made me remember what Ed Mann said about him during the Frank Zappa concert @ Stockholm 01/05/1988.

During The Torture Never Stops, when he is asked by Frank what did he say about Tom Petty 'about two months ago', the music stops and he declares:

"The butt-ugliest human being ever to be involved in rock'n'roll"

Then they keep changing lyrics to include the whole sentence for a bit. One of the best '88 shows... I crack myself laughing everytime I hear this.

I don't understand! I simply do not get why it is that anytime Rock Band comes out with a Game I'm all for it and I love it and I want to buy it release day etc etc. But when Guitar Hero releases anything I just don't care. It doesn't make any sense to me. It really doesn't.

This looks awesome. GREAT songs. I must have it.
