I'm hoping for the former,personally.
*gasp* Such shocking revelation! What kind of madness are we now facing in the world of gaming?? I say we boycott Capcom!
*an army of cloned Ninja-Cyber Robot-Pirate-Nyan Cat-Dracula-Midget Hitlers* Hear Hear!!!
It sold 0.57 million copies, is the 4th best selling 3DS game and the best selling 3rd party game.
- seemingly abandoned transfer play
- no internal storage
- expensive memory cards
- no BC, unless you pay for it... if the comparable DLC version is even on PSN.
It's like Lando said - this deal keeps getting worse all the time.
It might have games, who can say, but it's not a good deal for consumers and that's not good for third parties unless these are paid exclusives at least.
C'mon, if the 3DS does as well this season as it's predicted to, and as Jonathon points out SSFIV3D (what a ridiculous amount of acronym letters) they'd be pretty thick NOT to put it on 3DS.

I would like to see this on 3DS, and I would love some exclusive 360 characters. HEY CAPCOM, MS OWNS RARE. PUT SABREWULF IN SFXTK.
And if there isn't a "super" version of this within 15 months of release I will eat a hat.
@The Silent Protagonist
"seemingly abandoned transfer play" wat
The thing is not even out yet. And having no BC as a reason why a company should not make games for a system is retarded. you are right about the memory cards though. But we should weight for the real US prices and if they are going to bundle the memory cards or not.
That only affected you and a few other whining bitches who had no intention of getting it anyway.
I didn't buy a 3ds for ds games and I'm not buying a vita for psp games.
HERP DERP DERP.

OH sure. Kiddy games, Capcom thinks. That's why they're making a fucking exclusive Resident Evil.
Jerkwad.
Given I have quite a few PSP games sitting on my PS3 HDD waiting to be played, I don't quote think you can accuse me of never having any intention of buying a Vita.
I used to have a PSP and Dissidia Duodecim along with MGS Peacewalker were my favorites on the system.
I had the expectation that Vita would be able to fully replace PSP, but it's proving to lack in expected features and to have everything I do want from it, I'm just better off getting a tablet if I'm going to drop $400 or more.
My 3DS by contrast replaces my DS, has on board memory and cheap SD card memory which it also comes with! It didn't have a lot to go on game wise, but I can't complain right now as that little drought is over.
If the tablet game heats up in Q1 or Q2 like its looking to, with more than just Kindle Fire out there at $200 are you really going to not fell Byrne that you're spending nearly twice that to have all the basics for Vita?
you say you 'used' to have a PSP. so the Vita wouldn't be replacing anything as you don't have anything to replace. and since the Vita will be able to play those PSP games you have waiting on the HDD, outside of the prices of the memory cards, of which we don't know the actual cost outside of Japan, there really isn't anything holding you back. if you want a $200 tablet, get one. i don't know why you think they are comparable with regards to their primary intentions.
ALL of those PSP games on you PS3 HD will be instantly playable on your Vita for free day one. You only have to pay for digital versions of UMDs that you have.
The only obstacle is memory, and honestly, the prices that most people are expecting are WAY higher than they'll be.
Even though actual exchange rates put 10,000 yen at like $130, the way that electronics pricing has ALWAYS worked in Japan is a more direct 100 yen = $1 scheme.
So that places the 16gb card at around $50-55 and the 32gb at $90-95.
Still pricey, sure, but third-party memory cards will quickly undercut THOSE prices as well, and you most certainly don't have to have ALL of your download PSP games on your Vita at once. Just buy a 4gb or 8gb card ($20-35) and wait a month for cheaper third-party cards.
Peeps need to think for a second before going ape-shit over what is still a frickin' amazing value. I mean, the PSP had the same exact shit with no on-board memory and you were paying like $20 for a 32mb card and it was a considerably less impressive piece of tech at the SAME PRICE ($250).
Actually, according to Capcom's list of platinum sellers, SSF4 3D did in fact break a million sold.
@MasterBalls
Lmao, epic win.
Even if a platform is a viable target, if that platform doesn't have an advocate, then it might be overlooked. I mentioned Mikami as an example because he was an open advocate of the Gamecube at a period when Capcom saw Nintendo's console as "for kids". (Mikami at the time had soured extremely towards Sony as a whole.) Currently, Capcom doesn't seem to have anyone who is pushing for Nintendo support. In particular for SFvT, Nintendo doesn't seem to be much on Ono's radar. This doesn't mean that Capcom doesn't release Nintendo games, but that considering Nintendo might sometimes slip through the cracks.
As for staying in favor, being on the good side of a platform provider tends to offer a smoother ride. Capcom may have seen a choice between trying to support every platform, or supporting only select platforms and simultaneously getting in better graces with those platform owners. It could be that SFvT is going to Vita because SFIV went to the 3DS, to "balance" the scales. If Capcom only wanted to support one handheld, Sony might not have been happy if they felt they'd been snubbed. (Or it could be that Nintendo just wasn't on fighting game radar, with SFIV seeing 3DS release because Vita's release date was too far removed to even be an option.)
And one thing to remember about Nintendo's "for kids" image is that it does still affect things. For example, vocal fighting game fans seem to like to say that real fighters need to be on the 360/PS3 for them to play them. If Capcom doesn't see a fighting game audience on Nintendo's systems, then they might simply take the path of least resistance. (This did happen with Tatsunoko vs Capcom, where some of the fighter fan base audibly rejected a game simply because it was on the Wii and not available on the PS3 or 360. Said fans didn't own Wiis, or didn't think the Wii a viable target for a fighting game (due to its lackluster online as well as controller options).)
Considering that Dead or Alive and BlazBlue are on 3DS, and that Wii U will be getting Tekken, I don't think "not seeing a fighting game audience" will fly as a reason.
You're still missing the point that clearly someone at Capcom is pushing for the 3DS as you've got an exclusive, meaty looking Resident Evil game.
And that seems to be your opinion; I myself would much rather use the 3DS d-pad for fighting games over the mashy mess that is the Xbox 360 d-pad. You're missing the point and it's sheer conjecture anyway. Did you see him say "We're not making it for WiiU/3DS cos Nintendo is too kiddy for us adults"? No, if anything he's saying that yeah, it probably will eventually come out. The same has been pretty much said before.
http://www.3dsbuzz.com/street-fighter-x-tekken-on-3ds-it-should-happen/
The 3DS DOES have a fighting game audience. But I wouldn't be suprised in all honesty if Sony "advised" Capcom to make Vita the only handheld platform for SFvT for a while. And the WiiU? It's not even out yet. Capcom probably know only a little more than we do about it right now. Namco are making Tekken for it, so clearly it can't be that bad for fighting games. Especially when the ability to hook up WiiMotes and therefore Classic Controllers still exists.
