Ya I'm super dissapointed with the style change too. I really loved the more light hearted spy buddies theme.
That having been said. If I pretend that Overstrike never existed, this trailer is pretty rad.

Though it's a going in a waaay different direction than before, I honestly still like the way this looks, and I'm sure it will be fun. I'm just sad that its personality has disappeared :(
What Teriyaki said. I'm sure it'll play well, but the change from vivd stylised spy-tech to gritty military grittiness has deflated any enthusiasm I had for this.
The only reason I'm still paying attention is because Insomniac are a great studio. I hope the game can transcend this super-shonky second impression.

Well, I guess we are witnessing the downfall of Insomniac Games. I guess it's a good thing that last GREAT game they had finished up that story line proper in Ratchet and Clank: A Crack in Time.
Ok I just checked an literally NO ONE is happy about this. Everyone's disappointed. Including me. RIP in peace Insomniac.
EA touched it and it literally turned into a generic brown shitty mess. The first trailer was awesome, interesting, colorful. This is shit.
Yeah no. I am not going to play another shooter. Insomniac has changed for the worse. It used to be all about creativity but after Infamous 1 they went straight to hell. I miss the good old days. The ratchet and Clank days.

Actually Sucker Punch is the one responsible for the Infamous series, but other than that you're right, Insomniac has really dropped the ball on this one.

I don't care how good this game may turn out to be, because it will never live up to Overstrike. No matter how many guns they'll put in in, no matter how tight the controls are, because in the end it will only be a hollow shell, just another grimdark shooter.

I didn't look at this before and have no idea what overstrike was but let me give you my quick judgement of ye cover. The decision is, it looks like a brown turd, it annoying rap music and features with sub-par character designs ripped from other games... wait a minute haven't I seen this somewhere before...
After this I watched the Overstrike trailer again and it looked much better. The new art direction wasn't necessary for a more serious tone. Just look at Pixar's movies.
Just looking at the weapons it's classic Insomniac and I hope this game turns out great. I am pretty surprised that no one is hating on Microsoft yet.

Anyways, I agree with everyone's above statement. If the game is fun, then it's fun. However, the game seemed to have a bit more of a style from Overstrike. You can have cartoony visuals yet have over the top violence as well.

When a good dev works with EA, it's like a cute chick with perfect C cups getting implants. She goes and ruins her tits by getting DDs, with one nipple pointing down, and the other to the left.
Sadly, once the damage is done, it can't be undone.
Let's hope other devs like CDprojekt and others that are not owned by a publisher don't mess around with EA. It's like losing a good friend to meth.

EA wont leave devs alone as cannibalising studios and franchises is their only source of income. They have no real talent outside of the studios that they buy and then run into the ground when they stop making profit.

Man this comment section is a real bummer. I'm sad to see the old style go, but I still think Fuse looks waaaay more interesting than most other 3rd person shooter. Still not going to buy it since it seems to be consoles only at this point.
Well, i'm shure that the game will be pretty fun, it's Insomniac after all, but i must agree with the most people in that Overstrike looks way more appealing than Fuse. IMO, of course.

I have faith enough in Insomniac that they will make a great game. Whether or not it'll be the game it could have been under Overstrike I'm not sure, but I think they may have shot themselves in the foot.
Oh, and it doesn't look generic. The colour pallet maybe but the mag shield, the arc shots, shatter gun and warp rifle were all present in the original trailer for Overstrike and are all present here. Laso they have the level up system from Resistance 3/Ratchet and Clank. That always rocks.

Wow, gone are the bright colors and caricatured characters. Even the big robot at the end, which was a James Bond-esque villain with a human face in Overstrike's trailer, is just a generic mech. All the personality has been sucked out of this.
And this is my biggest problem with modern games. They just lack personality. I'm not strictly talking about humor, but a certain kind of attraction that makes you interested in them. If video games were humans, a lot of them would lack charisma. They would be the brooding guy who doesn't have anything to contribute to a conversation or the shy wallflower or sticks to a corner.
Even assuming Fuse will be a good game, this trailer does nothing to grab my attention like the pre-rendered trailer did last year and that's a crying shame because CGI trailers usually do nothing for me.
