Well this is just plain awesome right here. Do want. Very much. Might actually go out and buy these instead of just read em off Youtube for once.
I always saw Mega Man hooking up with Samus. One is a blue android with a cannon for an arm that gets all kinds of power-ups, the other is a female bounty hunter in an awesome armor suit with a cannon for an arm and gets all kinds of power-ups. They are practically made for each other.
OH MY GAWWWWWWWWD! So not only will my fav Blue Bomber team up with sonic, my boy Knuckles will team up with Protoman? Almost makes up for Legends 3 being cancelled. :)
I'm not a big Mega Fan and I don't read many comics, but this is simply too cool to pass up. Plus, a Proto Man/Knuckles teamup sounds badass.
Capcom, you could do interesting stuff like this with your own characters too... if you actually cared enough to make any effort.

As cool as this is, I really wish someone who WASN'T Archie would take a stab at it. The Sonic comics are on par with your typical dreadful fanfic, and the writing for the Mega Man comics are slanted towards the younger crowd.
I'm glad Spaz is working on this, though. He's one of the two half decent artists still at the company.

Ian Flynn is the head writer on both the Sonic and Mega Man comics. Have you read the Archie comics lately? Ian does quite a good job, especially with the material he's presented. Most of the characters in Sonic are holdovers from his predecessors, so he can't simply write them out entirely. And considering that the actual Sonic games have TERRIBLE stories, maybe Sega should hire Ian to pen the story for the next title!
As for Mega Man, did you expect something else? Mega Man isn't The Punisher. It's an all-ages property. Naturally, it's going to slant young no matter who writes it. Doesn't mean it can't touch upon serious subjects like, say, Astro Boy did.

I'm surprised that it took Archie Comics this long to do what fan artists submitting pics to GamePro and envelope art to EGM already did but maybe I shouldn't be. Capcom still hasn't got around to putting Vega in one of the Marvel Versus Capcom games though Wolverine vs Vega was already old hat for gamezine fan art before even X-Men vs Street Fighter was released.
Well, both constantly use the same vilain and plot, so I guess it's a match made in heaven. All we need now is a way to add Mario and Zelda to the mix.
I've been following Megaman, but not Sonic. Should I catch up? Not really a Sonic fan, but I'll definitely read the crossover.

I gave it a second chance on Free Comic Book Day a few years back. It was the issue where AntiSonic because Scourge, a hip rad green hedgehog with a leather jacket who teamed up with one of Sonic's exes or something along those lines, at which point I realized it was just as laughable as it ever was.
As for Mega Man, I get it, but its pacing is really cruddy; it'll introduce "With Great Power Comes Great Responsibility" and then just kinda speed through Mega Man's "he goes power hungry then scares Roll okay he's a pacifist now" arc in just a few pages, as opposed to exploring it over the course of that entire 4 part story. But like I said; it's aimed at kids and the writing reflects that, so if it'll introduce a younger audience to Mega Man, I guess that's cool too.
