This trailer for DmCis the third (and final) of its kind, showing us a secret area Dante can gain access to using portals throughout his journey.
I've long been a fan of floating, decayed worlds, which the game seems to deliver on. If absolutely nothing else, Ninja Theory sure can create a stunning environment (see: Enslaved). As for the combat -- yeah, I'll never be able to pull that off.
Jordan Devore is Destructoid's PC gaming manager and founding ginger editor. He is said to be easy to love but difficult to know. When Samit inquired about his curious bio photo Jordan simply replied: "bitches love sandcastles" ... yet, there is no sandcastle in that photo. We may never truly understand his ways.

Meet the rest of the team
I love the floaty design of the area, and how it seems numerous secret areas are connected to the central pillar. I'm really hoping this game turns out right when Ninja Theory are done with it.
I'd like to hear what music choices they use, and what sort of user interface they make for this. I hope it also has various difficulty settings.
This change of style for the DMC series is quite welcome.
Release day for this game can't come quick enough.
The combat isn't looking all that exciting. It looks like a simplified version of Nero's in DMC4 in all honesty. In a post Bayonetta world, I have higher expectations of the DMC series.
I know jack shit about DmC so I won't really comment on the direction it's going but is it just me, or did those things he was fighting take WAY too long to die?
I want to get this for the story and long time fan of the series. But I have to say this after looking at all the trailers pout out so far is that I agree with SonicTHP to an extent. I don't see nearly enough crazy ass combos and not enough ground combos are being done. They seem to be trying to focus to much on air combos.

You and me both. Actually, it's pretty reasonable to hate him seeing as he looks just like the artist Tameem at the time of his redisign(which is probably the most egotistical thing somebody could do). I finally am able to look past it though. The character design will be awful, and will always be awful, but as long as the story, gameplay, and replay value are in tact, not to mention great graphics, I can overlook some terrible character design and 30 fps.
I wan tto see a video of Dante falling off platforms and having his ass handed to him in combat, before I will believe that Ninja theory can make a game that requires more than repeated ly tapping a button. Still - so far no glowing ledges showing you where youhave to jump to next. Just imagine if there's more than one way to traverse those landscapes!
Oh, and the devil trigger for Dante is by far the worst it has ever been. Red jacket and white hair will never make out for swapping out the character model based on the weapon in hand a la DMC3, but oh well.
ehh looks slow and sluggish, no huds or anything, no enemies
where is the stylish moves or the Devil Trigger(no stopping everything in place is not DT) actual transforming into a Devil and ripping everything to shreds???
The backgrounds are very pretty, but it seems it's all NT's good at.
The combat still looks very clunky compared to the previous games. And naturally, the 30FPS limit will hinder it as well.

Sometimes I wonder if people forget that this is a reboot and isn't supposed to be exactly like the other ones. I can understand not liking the character design, but when people complain 'it isn't DMC' I kind of wonder if they are missing something or just completely ignoring that it's a reboot.
So far I think the game looks fine. I can't say anything from the combat perspective because no one has played it yet, but it seems like it is good enough from the trailers.
If they make the transition between different moves a bit more smooth it would make the combat look good enough for me.
Doesn't need to be teh best DMC evar!1!, it just can't turn out as the worst in the series now...
Destructoid is an open discussion community. You don't need to "audition" to post a comment - just speak your mind. We respect differing opinions on the site, so have at it. Be smart, funny, insightful, clueless, or cute -- but back it up with substance. Keep your cool, keep it fun. I'm saying this with pride: Fuck Haters, Get Hype.

IMO there should be a way to have both exist.

Appreciating the inclusion of the off-hand grapple though. That was so useful in DMC4 and looks like it has more range this time round to boot.
