They had me at Combichrist. Especially when I heard that Andy LaPlegua was doing the soundtrack.

I guess the fan outcry was heard loud and clear since every new trailer is a step closer to the original Dante. I am waiting for the game to speak for itself before I choose a side personally.
I love it! The world NT created looks so amazing. I can't wait to read your reactions to the combat, Dale.
As someone who was very unhappy with early showings of DmC...:) Hell, this looks more like it now. I love the attitude he has, much like Dante should. The combat seems fast and they have stinger in there. Its all perfectly fine with me, now just a different direction with the story. ^_^ I AM ALL UP FOR THAT!

IGN has a new gameplay preview up for this.
I'll admit, the gameplay looks more solid than I anticipated and looks (dare i say it) kinda fun.
There's still a couple of bang-head-on-wall stupid things though.
1- All of the fighting takes place in Limbo, aka they're doing the exact same thing Bayonetta did.
2- His new look is stupid, not because its a departure from the original but just because its stupid.
3- That soundtrack is god awful.

i don't like DMC4 at all, but i did have a lot o fun playing Enslaved, good work Capcom, you have my attention on a prequel of a game that i hated
Their art is good as it has always been, but I'll be the oldfag and say I still can't stand his new look. Also, ridiculous though it is, they just copied DMC3's opening with different flair.

Since the original trailer, Dantes face has slowly gone from looking like a junkie to a more normal looking person.
Still though, I'd rather rather white haired quirky looking original Dante over yet another brown haired, good looking guy in his 20s. Because god knows we have enough of them.
I suppose we got lucky that Nolan North isn't voicing him. That's something at least.

Similar to the ME3 controversy, the level-headed people that called out DMC5 weren't calling it out for Dante's "look" -- they were concerned with the 30FPS frame-rate, and the fact that Ninja Theory has never developed a deep and rewarding combat system -- something the DMC franchise is basically known for.
I'm looking forward to trying out the game, myself.

I've noticed that too - They've very quietly made Dante stop looking like a drugged out Mary-Sue to Tameem Antoniades.

@Mindkiller89 been awhile since I played DMC3, but you're right. Actually that track kinda sounds like KMFDM (too lazy to research).
While most games try to please with music by adhering to the common denominator, I like when games take a much more personal direction. But, I know music tastes are subjective, and I'm not trying to troll - so hugs @SephirothX

Nice satire to Fox News and O'Reilly there, i still don't like Dante's design (even though it has distanced itself a bit from the "bashed junkie" look we first saw) but gotta admit they seem to get the character's attitude right.

I bet if the new Dante were a bald buff black guy people would do mental paces back and forth, wondering what to say and if what they do say is racist or not. That way discussions about Dante's appearance wouldn't be as droll and unbearable as they are now. Next we'll be discussing which hair products the new Dante uses versus which ones the old Dante used for fuck's sake.

I've remained neutral on the reboot, but that shit all looks pretty bad ass. Will wait to see how it plays.

As someone who has been dreading this game since announcement, this trailer is sort of winning me over. My biggest gripe with the game was that it seemed like they were taking it to seriously, and ingoring the comedy in the DMC series. This trailer showed the ridulouslness that I love about DMC, I don't think it will be as good as DMC 3, but I think I will enjoy this game regardless.
Once I can get past the haircut I'm sold. Could be fixed with maybe pre-order bonus DLC costumes maybe? Other then that the game looks great.
