Destructoid is gaming news, community, videos, and sometimes love. Take the tour or jump in with Facebook:

It's easy to forget how enjoyable and tight an experience Call of Duty 4's single-player campaign was, but then neat stuff like this knocks some sense back into me so I don't really mind. Viewable after the break is part one of an animated series based on Modern Warfare. It's good ... too good.

Wait, no, it's just good. The video, which was graciously spotted by MTV Multiplayer, takes all of its music, sound effects, and voice over work directly from the ridiculously popular Infinity Ward game and then creates a short story out of them using neat-looking illustrations.

But don't take my positive word for it. The video currently has a five star rating, and the intelligent, caring individuals that make up the YouTube community have never steered me wrong before.

Not bad. Reminiscent of the MGS digital comics.

@Solid

You took every single word out of my mouth.

I wonder what the Nuclear explosion would looked like?

Here's Part 2, 'The Duty' if you're interested.

Top notch work by this guy, I'm jealous :)

Yeah it really is similar to the MGS digital comics, even the music. That's not a bad thing at all, very cool.

Didn't really seem all that special to me. Also gotta love "Inspired on Call of Duty..." The heck does that even mean?

Artistic, yea but not my cup of tea.

I'm a strong believer that more games should have an art style and general aesthetic nearly identical to this. :D

Sorry, but what was the point of this video? I'm all for people making creative vids but I just wish more would use their own ideas instead of 'reinterpreting' someone elses's work.

Also, KimmyT - shut the fuck up, no-one here is ever going to click your link.

Ummmm ill be honest i felt that video was worthless. Make a crappy sketch then use camera tricks to make it look animated?

There was a video with a similar art style and theme, released about a year ago, except that it wasn't based on COD4, and it was much, much better. Can't exactly remember what it was called, but it was based on real life incidents from the Iraq War, and honestly, it was much better than the above video, so try to find it on google. I'm not that the above video is bad..... but it's not that great either.

Actually, I found it - it's called "The War in Iraq: A soldiers perspective", you can find it on google video and it's a gazillion times better than the above video. But I suppose the above video wasn't made by a professional studio, but by a very talented beginner without the cash to take his video to a greater height, so I suppose it's still pretty good.

Except for the sounds, I wouldn't have suspected it had to do anything with Call of Duty 4.

It was interesting, and had a nice art style, but the animation wasn't very good. Far too many still frames.

If anything this video reaffirmed for me just how great Call of Duty's singleplayer sound design was.

I do appreciate the good and bad critics and I do respect opinions but...
after receiving an e-mail from the community manager of Infinity ward, more than 52352 views and more than 479 coments at youtube, I havent seen souch a negativity i a long time.

Firt of all, I didnt did this for fame or glory or trying to get some points anywhere, FUN is the word. I do custom maps for COD series and I know
a lot about the files inside the game, thats why I decided to take some of them and have some FUN, sounds in this case and of course, take some practices of After FX, if it looks profesional to you? glad to know it.

I still surpriced with the result, but hell yeah many people can do it better.

Some drawings and a couple of AFX tricks?
Sure, as simple as your mind is, cant wait to see you to show us how is done.

MGS DGN? Sure, I love them, also the technique, thats helped me a lot.

Inspired on"? What?"

Inspired, based or used as an excuse for doing something...who cares!,
I heard the sound files and started to link them as differents stories based on the game and characters (No need to be soo smart to notice that).

Now, you can waste your time dropping BS about others work, just because you cant do the same, appreciate the effort, enjoy the try or do it better.

Im not pretending to win an Emmy with this, I jut had fun making it, and Im receiving some request to do some work in this style, now you can shoot you self in the head.

Dang, what a people.
