Third Resident Evil movie to be final one

     Resident Evil

Comingsoon.net is reporting that the once expected 4th Resident Evil movie is not going to be happening. According to the synopsis for the 3rd movie, Resident Evil: Extinction, it is to be "the third and final installment" in the series. While the first movie was bad, the second was deplorable. So, after a truly horrific third film, the fourth one could have been really good. Ah well, so goes the way of Hollywood. At least I won't have to be disappointed one more time, even though I'll be subjecting myself to the third one for the sake of Destructoid readers everywhere.

I like these movies. These movies are great because they are so terrible! Choppy dialog, poor story and 2-dimensional characters made these movies so bad that they were good.

The 2nd one was shot in and around Toronto, Ontario. Raccoon City Hall is actually Toronto City Hall. They changed the skyline by removing the CN Tower. The buildings that they are flying around at the start of the film are mostly Canadian banks (CIBC, BMO etc).

The only redeeming factor of these films is the directing. Paul Anderson can direct like nobody's business. He cannot write to save his life.

This is awful news. The fourth one was suppose to take place in Tokyo. Think about it. What could be more awesome than engrish-speaking yakuza zombies in bunny suit riding motorcycle?

Hooray for Canada! But i personally didnt like the movies. I don't really like any movie based on a game because if you look in the past you'll see that they dont do so well (super Mario Bros.)

The first one was ok. The second one was ridiculous. Both were 50 times better than a Uwe Boll movie. Be grateful for that.

@ whs117:

Dude, Super Mario Bros. is a complete cheeseball masterpiece. That entire movie, from the concept of even making it to the set design is an amalgamation of insanity and twisted genius. It is surreal beyond belief.

And Samantha Mathis is hot.

I've seen RE1, didn't even know there was a sequel. I thought the first one awful but that seems to be the standard with movies based on video games.

It'a kinda funny when movies are shot in Toronto and they use all these recognizable building in the shots. It's like hey there's City Hall and the CBC Building and in the background theres Zanta doing backflips! OMG
