Third-person steampunk title, Edge of Twilight, announced for 360/PC

Attention fans of games with gorgeous artwork and cool premises that may never see the light of day (Sadness and City of Metronome, I'm looking at you guys)! Developer Fuzzyeyes Studios has announced a new third-person, action/adventure title, Edge of Twilight, for the Xbox 360 and PC.

Set in a dark, steampunk fantasy world where night and day have been split into two realms, Edge of Reality promises to get your hopes up with a fancy Web site, and slick concept art. Players take control of the world's only living halfbreed, Lex, and will embark on what Fuzzyeyes are calling "an increasingly complex and compelling storyline that will blur the line between good and evil."

As great as this sounds, please keep this in mind: Fuzzyeyes are the same studio who brought you the hit game, Hot Dog Hot Gals, a strategy/sim that feature chicks in bikinis slinging hot dogs. True story. The official Edge of Twilight Web site doesn't seem quite as ridiculous, but we can only hope that the game also features scantily clad women putting mustard on hot dogs ... that's the future of gaming, right?

Hrn. I'll not get my hopes up too high. Much as I believe we need more steampunk, the game info described on the site reads like pretty much half of the games released over the past decade. In concept, it pales and withers in comparison to metronome. I'm more than happy to be proven wrong, though, and it is way too early to make any judgements.

@BigPopaGamer: heh nice, I thought of Drizzt too! Drizzt, who would own Illidan in a duel btw...

Game looks interesting, not really much stuff to go on though. Could be a great action-adventure thing, or some shit adventure Myst-clone with nice graphics.

Don't all games have SWEEEEET concept art? Look at the hobos of Condemned 2?

They got me with steampunk, I'm a little saddened that Timeshift went away from that. And does anyone know any good steampunk books?

How wide is the edge of Twilight?

I would have preferred the tippy top of twilight.

We haven't seen any good steampunk in a long while, hopefully this won't disappointing considering how good it looks. My gf loves steampunk, I bet she'd eat this right up.

I like cyberpunk better, personally. FF VI was set in a steampunk world I believe.

@Pew imagine the duel between Illidan and Drizzt put into a movie with say, Star Wars esque dueling or Crouching Tiger.

@BigPopa: Curse you for putting that thought into my head! I now demand that Illidan will fight some Drizzt-looking night elf in the Warcraft movie.

I remember reading about this devteam working on a project for awhile. Very surprising, its almost a hybrid mix of Zelda & Prince of Persia. Curious though how far they'll take this title, and actually deliver something unique. As far as the concept art shows, its definitely going to a different level. Wonder when they'll show more, and some of this title in action.

However this turns out, I'll be thankful they made it instead continuing their IP with [i]Hot Dog Hot Dudes[/]

Guess what I suck at?

If your answer is BBCode, you would be correct. Other correct answers include bowling and shuffleboard.

I am SO GODDAM SICK of games using 'half-breeds' as the only means to move the story along. Has a vampire movie/game come out in the last bazillion years where the main character isn't a freakin halfbreed?
