Things you really need to own: the Braid soundtrack photo

I'm a sucker for great game music, and while I certainly noticed that the music for XBLA game Braid was lovely while I was playing it, I found the content of the game itself so absorbing that the music gracefully blended into the background. Now that I've fully explored Braid and it's slipped out of my daily consciousness a little, returning to the score on its own was much more impactful. Luckily, it's now for sale, so you can go and download or pick up a hard copy if you like. There are remixes too!

What's cool is that you can set the price you'd like to pay for the album (pricing starts at $5 and runs up to $18). I'm sure the folks that put this together appreciate it no matter what you donate. The music is truly thought provoking and beautiful, and if you enjoy that sort of thing, I can't recommend this enough -- I've been listening to it all morning in a state of semi-bliss!

Great soundtrack, I'm glad they finally put it up for sale. And at a *good* price (you choose!).

Sadly I got the PC version and you can freely open up the song files and just play them from there so I don't have much of an incentive to buy, though I'm seriously considering getting one of the albums (not related to braid) that one of the poeple responsible for the soundtrack made.

Easily the best part about that game.

I've had the soundtrack for a long while (through a little research of the artists) and I must say that if you love the music for Braid, you should track down full albums from the individual artists as well. They're all wonderful violinists/harpists, and pretty much everything they do is just as beautiful as what you hear in Braid. Especially Jami Sieber, who is responsible for my favorite track of the game (Undercurrent).

That being said, I will probably give what I can for this album anyway.

I think I'll do what Ashley said, as for the soundtrack, already was thinking into doing what Chronic Logic said (since I just finished the game yesterday).

I can honestly say that after playing the demo the music is what sold me on the game. It could not have been more perfect to set the mood and atmosphere of the game.

Agreed Swank... that Irish folk-style song in the first actual level.
Man. I just sat there for half an hour, listening to it.

Ogu: no, you could download in Rainbows for free (for a limited time after the release). Even still, I like the idea of donations for music. I want to see a chamber performance of Braid's music though, that would make me SO HAPPY in the pants.
