SouthPeak Games has announced a new RC Racing called Things on Wheels coming out for XBLA and PC. It's set to come out this Summer with races taking place within a house. Apparently, Xbox owners have been asking for a game just like this since day one:

ToW is what the Xbox LIVE Arcade community has been asking for since day one. It’s a competitive racing game with bits of fun and lots of interactivity if you just want to goof around. After Mad Tracks, we had to concentrate on just racing, but always with a twist,” said Denis Bourdain, big wig at Load Inc. “It’s a fresh racing experience we built on everything we’ve learned in the past 12 years, and it will rock you! We’re very proud to be working with one of the sexiest publishers today. All of our developer friends are just plain jealous. SouthPeak rules!”

Really? Xbox owners have been wanting yet another RC racing game since the release of the 360? Wow, I think I should quit Destructoid right now. I obviously haven't been paying attention to what Xbox, nay, any sane videogamer wants.

This is also the first time I've ever heard of a publisher being called sexy. I guess you could consider SouthPeak sexy if you imagine their logo of the mountains as breasts. Breasts are sexy. And tasty

SOUTHPEAK GETS WHEELS, GOES LIVE

Things on Wheels, Over-the-Top RC Racing Action,

Coming to Xbox LIVE Arcade and Windows-based PCs

Grapevine, Texas – January 30, 2008 – SouthPeak Games has announced its first foray onto Xbox LIVE® Arcade for the Xbox 360® videogame and entertainment system from Microsoft with Things On Wheels (ToW). ToW is an accessible, pure arcade title placing players at the helm of radio-controlled (“RC”) cars as they race through a gigantic Florida Art Deco house filled with “tracks” comprised of everyday household items – and more. Developed by experienced Xbox LIVE Arcade alumni Load Inc., ToW promises to deliver plenty of RC racing fun when released in summer 2008. ToW has also been confirmed for release on Windows-based PCs,

“Load Inc. wanted to do something brand new with the racing genre, and this really appealed to us,” said Melanie Mroz, CEO of SouthPeak Games. “Competing with real life remote control cars is great fun, so why not do it in a videogame? ToW delivers the same reckless thrill.”

Races in ToW take place on nonlinear tracks that go from room to room in an expansive house. Normal, everyday objects become obstacles and hazards for player’s miniature vehicles to race through. Any challenge could have a player picking up speed in the straightaway of the foyer, dodging the searing coils of the electric stove, catching some air to clear a stack of magazines in the way, and thousands of other possibilities.

Alternatively, you could buy a couple R/C cars and drive them around your house.

This is about as ludicrous as when Sega said Mario & Sonic Olympics would top holiday sales.

My interest is piqued. As a racing game fan, I'm happy when anything comes to my console of choice (PC =P). Please have good LAN support!

@ chief blaze

Also a micro machines for the original gameboy. And you get boats! Odly enough the best part about the game is the playable characters that have no impact on the game. They are...
Spider- The cool dude in glasses and a leather jacket.. Think Fonzie
Walter- The fat kid
Dwayne- The handicaped kid in a hat with the bill flipped up
Mike- The nerdie wheres waldo looking guy
Emilio- the somewhere from south america guy
Chen- The asian guy
Cherry- the blonde girl
And about 5 more steryotypes. Something for everyone!

did anyone else see the bioshockesque background and worry that these cars may end up on the flat side of a bigdaddy's boots.

Heres the thing...if I want to play with RC cars in my house....I can do that, and I'm pretty sure it'll be more fun than this game. Mad Tracks was pretty stupid too

Look out for "HORNBYZ" the latest hot sexy dog-humpingly good train game from SouthPeak, where you can... BUILD THE TRACK! Make your trains go really slow, and piss off passengers, or go really fast, and derail, killing the passengers! ALL THIS AND MORE!

Rez better have downloaded by now. I need something sexy to counter-act SouthPeak Sexy.

I'm sorry, but I can't buy the game unless the title is more specific. It could be dead hookers on wheels for all I know.
