I've never played these games and I'm not sure if I will like them. I'm not even sure what kind of games they are. I'm a super Metal Gear Solid fan, but this series just never spoke to me visually, so I never gave it a chance. Is it a shooter? A melee focused game? Is it an action game or an RPG even?

i'm SO EXCITED FOR THIS! i still have both original discs i could pop into my PS3, but will definitely wait to play them in glorious HD!
(also, for anyone who's never played them, ZOE2 is hands down a million times better than the first ZOE, so don't let the first game turn you off for playing the 2nd)

Yes! After YEARS of being denied this game (didn't have a PS2 growing up, and when I finally got one, all the copies of ZOE were "blue layered discs" that won't play on the PS2 Slim...) I can finally beat Zone of the Enders 1!

It's a 3rd person Action Flying Melee/Shooter with Epic Robot battles a level up system, and a pretty good story mode. Comes with a challenge mode and Multiplayer.
The 2nd one takes the first game and improves everything it was good at to perfection. So I'd say play the first game so it doesn't spoil your appetite for it.
And if you don't like it, the 2nd one is a masterpiece.

I want this day one but after the whole Silent Hill collection fumble I may have to approach this with caution. I wish I still had my copy with the Sons of Liberty demo. So many good times using the gameshark to get the FAMAS and paint the tanker red :)
I never cared for the first game. Even though I bought it solely for the MGS2 demo, I actually did manage to finish it. It wasn't that good.

The jump in quality from ZoE to Zoe2 is phenomenal. I really liked the first game, but the second one is just a masterpiece.

Never played a Zone of the Enders title, but it's the closest I have to a good Neon Genesis Evangelion game. That aside, it looks pretty amazing anyways. Hoping October 25th is the international release date, wouldn't wanna see this game be delayed until 2013.

I don't think the people who handled the Silent Hill HD Collection are handling this one, pretty sure Kojima Productions is. I hear the Metal Gear Solid HD Collection wasn't bad so this one should be great too.

Kojima's secret best series. Wonder if we'll get a UK release, or whether it'll be delayed insanely like the MGS HD Collection was?
I'm not all that interested in the game iteslf (I still have both originals and a working PS2) but I AM interested in the packed-in goodies. I've always wished I could just buy the extras out of the HD-Special-Collector-Ultimate-editions and skip the game itself (heresy, blasphemy, etc.).
I only ever played ZOE2 and only for a few levels until I got stuck on a boss battle and never completed the game. I will definitely look to play this as it's a series I always wish I played more of back in the day.
