I've never played Valhalla Knights, and if these videos for the sequel are indicative of the series, I think it's very understandable. Why was the above video even released for public consumption? It's one of the most depressing examples of gameplay I've ever seen.

The above footage showcases Valhalla Knights 2's co-op and aside from looking buggy as Hell (got to love the guy who's just gliding around on the screen) it is one of the most drab and boring videos I've seen in a while. PR footage is usually intended to make a game look exciting and sometimes far better than the actual truth -- if this is the best that XSEED can drag up for VK2's multiplayer, then I dread to think what it's like to actually play.

The versus mode is no better, and you can watch evidence of that after the jump. VK2 promises six-a-side versus battles, but if they all look like this, then no thanks. I can think of better things to do with my PSP.

Oh and before you ask -- you can have your wasted minutes back just as soon as I get mine.

I wish this video was like on a pre-order disc so you can get ready to be disappointed.

Again, why are the Japanese so obsessed with Norse mythology? And why do they feel like they have to tamper with it?

Well, not obsessed in that kind of way. But I often tend to see some reference to Norse mythology in japanese animations and games. And they're just added there completely randomly.

It's like a movie trailer where all the actors are sitting in their underwear doing a script readthrough.

Surely they'll fix this...

That looks exactly like the .hack games. I wonder if it uses the same engine.

6 vs 6 obvs wont work there too much for the psp to process in one go plus being ad-hoc i can see the game freezing many of times.. the original was better as far as can see

Setting aside the buggy-ass gameplay... wow those menus looked generic and unpleasant.

Projectexodus: Huh? There's historical reference in many games. It's hardly a subversive Japanese national plot to undermine Norse mythology. I can recall only a couple of Japanese games to use Norse references. About the same number of Western games that use Greek reference. Or Egyptian reference. Or Sumerian. Or Aztec. Or whatever. Is it the bastardisation of Norse mythology that bothers you? I suggest you boycott God of War III then for the flagrant misrepresentation of Greek history. :/

Woah, weak. I especially thought it looked way too dark at times and it looks like there's no decent control over the camera either.

@faultymoose
Its not about undermining Norse mythology. It just seems like they throw in these random references and names, without actually having any connection to Norse mythology at all. At least God of War is based in a greek mythological setting, even though it might not be all correct.

I also noticed how they commonly name characters with German names. I'm not angry about them doing it or anything, I'm just curious. Because I've always suspected the Japanese to be a little... too fond of "aryans"... after all, they where allied with the nazi's. ;)

My mate would play through that. If he can play Evergrace, he could play that. And he's not stupid, he just loves RPGs.
