Mirror’s Edge is one of my most highly anticipated releases in the last two and a half months or so remaining before year’s end, so I’m always hungry for some new nuggets of info on the game. Earlier this week, our very own Nick Chester spent some time with the title’s newly-revealed Time Trial mode, and it sounded like he was able to get through it pretty quickly after playing it for a while. EA sent over three brand spanking new trailers for the game, and the first one focuses on that Time Trial mode.

Those of you who have seen Casino Royale (and I hope that’s most of you) will recognize Sébastien Foucan from a breathtaking chase sequence featuring Daniel Craig’s Bond and Foucan’s bomb maker, Mollaka, that occurred early on in the film. Foucan is known as the co-founder of free running and a “second-generation” founder of parkour, so EA tapped him to promote Mirror’s Edge in the Time Trial trailer above, since free running is what the game is all about.

After the jump, you’ll find two additional trailers. The first one shows an alternate route through the “Flight” level, which -- as far as I’m aware -- hasn’t been shown until now. I repeatedly shook my head in disbelief at some of the ridiculously bad-ass things Faith does in the video. The second video demonstrates an alternate run-through of the “Stormdrains” level, which was first unveiled at this year’s Games Convention in Leipzig. It’s notable for showing off the game’s bullet time feature, which hasn’t really been advertised all that much up to this point.

All in all, these three videos have got me salivating for the full game, which, sadly, is still a month or so away. But its release date, November 11th, is my birthday (*hint, hint*), so I’m looking forward to the day even more! Hit up the official Web site of Mirror’s Edge for more information.

Looking pretty cool. I love how death defying the jump in that Flight level was, because I believed she was too high up with that run on the side of the skyscaper.

*sigh* They delayed the PC version and it's probably going to be full of DRM aids anyways =<.

Looks so pretty and fun but.... why parkour on first person? wouldn't be funnier and more spectacle to be in third person? it's such an impressive sport and we miss the most stellar moves....

Hey everybody! Make sure you buy Samit Mirror's Edge for the 360 for his birthday! That way we can pretend to be evil genies, granting wishes but making something wrong with them.

One of the few "semi-mainstream" titles I'm looking forward to...I'm making myself wait for the demo before deciding whether or not to buy it, especially since I'm usually averse to first-person titles, but this take on the perspective certainly has my attention...

I'm positive I've seen the alternate Flight video before. I think the last video is new, though.

GRRAGH, should I get this on PC or PS3?! I usually defer any FPS games to PC, but this isn't quite like any other FPS...

@unangbangkay: PS3, for sure. For one, I'm sure the controls will be much better on the PS3 (it's not a shooter), and secondly, the PC release date is "winter" for now -- it's coming out after the PS3/360 versions.

The first trailer is pretty lame. The edits to real life parkour was cheesy.

The second trailer was kinda cool though. I don't hate this game as much anymore.

I wish I could be excited about this :( I'm such a cynic lately, but this has a heavy on-rails look about it. I hope it's massively open ended and that those perfect 90 degree turns aren't automated, or worse, a quick-time style button press. This is one game that I'd be uber happy to be totally wrong about.

@faultymoose: Check out my hands-on preview from the PAX show floor to debunk both of the myths you mentioned (it's not on rails, and it isn't an open-world game -- you have full control over your character at all times).
