These Left 4 Dead achievement statistics reveal how bad we truly are photo

People enjoy killing zombies, CONFIRMED!

Valve recently released the Left 4 Dead achievement statistics for PC players, and while the results aren't terribly surprising, they are interesting nonetheless.

So far, virtually no one has managed to A) incapacitate a Survivor who has entered and exited a safe room (Lamb 2 Slaughter) or B) kill 53,595 Infected (Zombie Genocidest).

Considering how much of a b*tch those two achievements really are, it's absolutely no wonder they have yet to be unlocked by practically everyone partaking in the zombie apocalypse. Also, the AI Director is a dick.

After giving these stats a once-over, how do you stack up against everyone else?

I'm pretty sure I've seen the first one happen. I've seen a lot of damn close calls too.

Yeah, but these are for people running Steam, I believe. And wouldn't it say 0.1% then, unless by 0% they really mean virtually no one and not 0%?

I got Akimbo Assassin which apparently only 4.3% of players have. Beating a campaign with just pistols isn't hard at all though. I imagine most players just haven't attempted it. Also I'm on the 360 version so I don't count.

I've only killed a small town population so far (7,500). As for entering and exiting a safe room.... it'll happen.

But, IMO, Left 4 Dead is the perfect scenario for you and your friend's personal achievements and funny things that happen, like "No More Babies: All survivors make it except for Zoey" and "LOL Ragdoll: A zombie ragdolls from a high place and everyone voice wheels 'laugh'"

Well there are probably a shitton of people playing, so some could still have it but still wouldn't be enough to break 0%(I think)

I question the validity of this one. There has been more than enough time for someone to kill over 53,000 zombies. I've seen individual chapters where people have killed around 1000 zombies.

A few people have posted on the L4D forums about Lamb 2 Slaughter being bugged, with it showing as unlocked in the game, but not on the community profile so that probably explains why it reports 0.

Considering there are servers dedicated to achievement farming in TF2 it would be no great stretch to imagine some people have set stuff like this up in a versus game.

I have 27 of the achievements, and the only one I didn't get just from playing the game normally was akimbo assassin. All the others are flukes. I've tried to get cr0wned, but nothing works. A single headshot with the hunting rifle will not kill a witch.

I think the rarest one I've achieved is Man Vs. Tank. I'm sure some of the harder ones, such as "UNTOUCHABLES
No Survivors take damage after contacting the rescue vehicle." have been only achieved by people playing on Easy.

Hell I was just starting up the game and checked my achievements and even I've unlocked Lamb 2 Slaughter so yeah, definitely bugged I'd say.

Oh and for Cr0wned you need to get up close and shotgun the witch in the face.

We were playing Versus last nite and Aerox accidentally opened the safe room door and was killed _inside_ the saferoom XD. Didn't count for the achievement though I think.

Whoa, check it out. The L4D achievement "Zombie Genocidest" requires you to kill 53,595 zombies. The Dead Rising achievement "Zombie Genocider" requires you to kill 53,594 zombies. L4D topped them by one! Most awesome video game reference by another video game ever.

Oh, and I love the stats for the Zombicidal Maniac achievement. %2 have gotten through a campaign on Expert XD.

To get Cr0wned, you need to use the shotgun and sneak up slowly behind the witch while crouching.

The problem with the Campaign-related Achievements is, that if the first map loads up too slow on your pc, or doesn't connect very fast, you will come into the game shortly after the start, so it won't count as a complete campaign. For example, I definitely finished all campaigns, and 2 of them on Expert I think, still none registered because the bot played the first few seconds of the game waiting for me to take over - except one playthrough of Dead Air, where we had to start over on the first map if I recall correctly.

I remember driving that butcher's truck back and forth through the basement for a solid hour or two before I managed to kill 53,594 zombies.

Oh wait, wrong game.

Rarest one I have is All 4 Dead. I know I could run through with only pistols but I don't feel like making my teammates pick up the slack. I hate achievements like that.

I actually have the MAN VS TANK achievement lol

I got it by playing an online game by myself (everyone else died) in the final section of Blood Harvest and standing atop the tractor in the middle of the cornfield and just shooting the tank with my pistol (cuz I could barely see it and didn't want to waste my ammo)

the tank kept throwing concrete chunks at me, but for some reason they kept hitting the BACK of the tractor and not me (and the tank wouldn't come any closer) and then it finally died

I have someone on my friends list with lamb 2 slaughter but he's on the superior 360 version.

And I refuse to believe the 0.2% who beat all campaigns on expert didn't cheat unless they prove me otherwise.

"I have someone on my friends list with lamb 2 slaughter but he's on the superior 360 version. "

Calling the 360 version superior is a stretch. I, for one, would rather use my keyboard/mouse, and I still have gamepads available for use by friends. We can also do Splitscreen mode and spread it across my dual monitors. Awesome.

Maybe the dudes who beat the campaigns on expert weren't on the inferior 360 version and could aim with a mouse?

I wouldn't say "Zombie Genocidest" is a bitch to do, it is just going to take time. Everybody will get it eventually, unless they stop playing the game.

of course I have it on 360 and I'm only missing the Zombie Genocide, the beat all campaigns on expert, and the 1 shot kill on a witch. Lamb 2 Slaughter was easy, all you have to do is get a friend to run to the safe room on low health, then run outside the door and get pounced by a hunter. Try it, it works like a charm. And the Akimbo achievement is easy too because the duel pistols are almost better than using any of the other weapons, I actually prefer them.

oh and the take no damage, that one is effin insanely hard by the way,you have to basically run like hell for the whole time being shooting all around you. We did this on Death Toll, basically shouting, left, right, left, screaming hunter, smoker, tank over and over and finally the stupid boat showed up.

Meh, I've seriously considered getting a 360 recently. Honestly, I just don't see a reason to. PS3, maybe, but I just don't see enough that sets the 360 apart from the PC. I'm not really sensitive about it. I just don't see the rationale.

I'm getting your "superior" 360 version because I really like the game and most of my friends are playing it on 360. Also, I enjoy playing it with a gamepad on a huge-ass TV. But when I tried it on the PC my accuracy went up 15% and I got about 30 more headshots in each chapter than normal.

The 360 version may or may not be the best to purchase, but it's foolish to claim that it's easier to aim or control on the 360.

I for one am not too terribly sore my computer won't run it decently enough to play. At least I have a 360 and not a PS3.

I hate people that do achievement farming. Why have a friend set up the scenario on a versus game just for you to get the achievement. I rather actually earn it than "cheat" to get it.

That being said, I'm up to 37 of 51 always playing on expert campaigns. Akimbo assassin and Man vs Tank were probably the hardest to get on expert.

It disgusts me that only 2% of the Steam users have actually completed a SINGLE game on expert. I've done No Mercy and Death Toll so far, and failed at Dead Air after spending ~90 minutes on the final stage.

sbsshootme - your full of crap. bots did not keep you from beating a campiagn by starting while you were loading. the bots DONT EVEN MOVE save to follow you around. Now if you didnt complete it because you joined and the round was started already then you did not complete it. i have a tip, try to find LOBBYS because if you get to the lobby, you are counted as being there even if it takes you a minute longer to get into the game. I have beaten no mercy in expert, and have come close and death toll and dead air, but unlike you i can admit my failure. i have 42 of the achievements, niether of which is lamb 2 slaughter or genocidest. i have killed 32,994 zombies total. as for whoever it was that wrote he saw someone kill 1000 plus zombies in one act... get off easy and dont just sit waiting for more hordes, thats as pathetic as letting your friend drag you 100 feet or kill all your team mates as a tank.

have a good day all, and im sorry for stepping on toes, but what good is a game when you take the easy way out. dont play under advanced, and try to keep the retrying of levels down, then ill be impressed by 1000 kills in an act. (the most ive gotten is 350 some odd in one act and i log about 60 hours every 2 weeks into this game)
