Quantcast

A few days ago, I posted some pictures I snapped of the Rock Band dolls uh, "Bandmates" that Harmonix and MTV were displaying in their Rock Band 2 room at E3. But digging into their online press kit, I came across some official images which give you some better detail of the dolls action figures statues.

In case you don't know what you're looking at, "Bandmates" are fully customizable statues that can be made to order based on your in-game Rock Band avatar. No word on pricing or availability, but a number of you said you'd be down for this if costs were reasonable.

If playing dolls isn't your thing, be sure to check out my previews of Rock Band 2's peripherals and new features

I want one so badly, but the powdery look is really ugly. Can they fix that?

I've been waiting on these since Rock Band first came out, since it was mentioned as being available prior to its release. I definitely want one, but I'm totally curious as to what they're made of and why they're so sandy looking.

Yeah the sandy look bothers me. They look like they were made out of gum drops which makes me want to eat them which I'm sure I would try to do one drunken night.

Made to order probably means expensive.

They look sandy because of the 3d printing process that they use. Literally it's sprayed colored sand. I wonder if a little sandpaper (sand vs sand!) and a coat of gloss would work on these...

I have a Spore creature "doll" from E3 a few years back, great stuff. I like that EA is really pushing these, but I spend enough on DLC to justify spending another $20-$30 on a rock band dude/dudette.

Wonder if the Tattoo's come out on the statue?
