It's done! The epic Nintendo drama There Will Be Brawl has debuted its final episode over at The Escapist and concluded the ten part series. Usually Hamza would be bringing you this news, but you're getting me instead. Hopefully we can all move past my lack of sharkness. In case you've forgotten Mario has amassed an army, Luigi is after Ganon, Princess Peach is still missing, and Olimar has completely lost it. If you've been keeping up with the story all is revealed in the conclusion.

Well, kind of. After watching all 35 minutes of the final episode I'm still a little unclear on things, but that might be because I hate listening to bad exposition. I do know it looked good and they pulled out plenty of special effects this time around. As for the ending, I suppose it will do. What do you think? Did the series have legs or was it just a cool idea that ran out of steam?

[Thanks, Vokarin]

Now why is this series allowed to continue but the Zelda fan movie gets shut down?

I think it may have overstepped its own boundaries, really. It did pretty damn good for a fan work but it suffered rather noticeably from bad acting and low low budgets. Also, maybe it could've rolled back a bit on the ol' GRIM n DARK. Not a bad show, and probably the most ambitious fan project that ever got off the ground but I won't shed tears over the completion.

I completely ignored this series because I thought it would be lame. But I decided to watch the first episode.

Oh how wrong I was. Now I have 8 more episodes to watch :D

I don't know, I thought the ending was great. The team did a really great job and am glad to have seen the series through to the end.

The ending (final minutes) was a reference to the ending of [insert movie here], since much of Kirby's character in TWBB is based on... you know. (Trying not to put plain-in-sight spoilers in here).

Still kinda sucked.

Yeah, I liked most of it up to the last couple episodes. The Pit/Falcon thing was golden though.

I've never seen any of these before. It entertained me enough to watch the whole thing, though it kind of dragged in the middle. I really like the costumes and the actors were pretty solid for this kind of thing. (How they managed to get so many HOT CHICKS is beyond me!!)

I might just watch the first nine episodes...

@VenatioDecorus

I believe the law allows characters to be used in satires such as this, just as Saturday Night Live is able to use copyrighted material. The Zelda fan movie, on the other hand, utilizes the plot and is an interpretation.

I dunno, my expertise is limited to bird law.

Man I loved the series I hope they make a spin off or something because I really hope they answer some of those questions.

It definitely felt strongest in the beginning, when they were setting the mood for everything. It was, as is, something that you should be laughing at, but its tone keeps you interested, as a legitimate drama. And when PT's gift in Episode 9...for a moment I got choked up when he said its use. I may've been choked longer if I was so shocked when I realized it. And that tribute later... awesome.

I'd like this put onto a DVD .iso so we can show it in non-streaming glory to...whoever! Even if you don't catch all the references, what's pertinent is made clear. Weeelll... except that I don't quite get what went on. I may have to take a while longer to piece things together, especially considering some wording (did Kirby mean he and his protégées were relics? I think so...). Anyway, the tone and style (give or take a nose line and ape eyeball) seem like they could carry this venture to anyone who likes a good dose of gravitas.

Still, I'm kinda sad Wario never got to show off his strength, let alone his nigh-invulerabilities.

Awesome series, but kinda let down by the end. Evil Lucas and Ness kicked ass. But otherwise, not up to par with the series. The special effects looked great though.

The series story itself was ok but the ambition of it all was by far the most impressive part of it all. From the large assortment of characters to the great costumes I was thouroughly impressed by the time they took out to make it just look so damn good.

Acting was also kinda rickity.

TJF588 expressed my views pretty well. Overall I thought the series was great. I'd suggest it to anyone who's considering giving it a go.

such a great set of costumes and props...but used for all that? Not that I can talk much, I watched most of it, but I wish they had gone in a more universally appealing direction. I'm sure some people liked it, but probably not most...
