There is a Crackdown Xbox 360 theme you can spend money on photo

If you like shelling out money for JPEGs, then you'll drop your trousers with delight with the news that a funky Crackdown theme is now available for your Xbox 360. It can be yours for the silly price of 240 Microsoft Points, and those who buy it are guaranteed to have something to look at for five seconds before getting bored.

I remenber when themes were not only cheaper, but better. It seems to be that these "premium" themes aren't really very good, especially as half of the Xbox background is taken up by some big curved thing. The only place where premium themes look interesting is the the friends list, and even then, it's much easier to use the Guide Button to look up friends, so it barely gets looked at.

Again, I must say that paying more money for a lesser quality product is not a "new" Xbox Experience. Not new at all.

Every picture should just be a dude kicking a truck 50 feet down a highway, or maybe beating people to death with an enormous globe. That sums up the Crackdown experience for me.

Hopefully this means we will see some info about Crackdown 2 in the near future. This game was just too much fun not to have a sequel.

Perhaps you would like a Duke Nukem theme with strippers dancing on a pole surrounded by pig cops with spilled toxic barrels all over the floor in front of a Duke Burger restaurant, would you like that instead?

I HATE NXE, well actually hate is an understatement... let's just say -- if NXE were a person and it so happened to walk by me while I was holding a sharp object, I wouldn't think twice about stabbing NXE in the throat.

I barely use my 360 now because of this lame "experience"

Paying for themes is absolutely cunting ridiculous.

Crackdown 2 would be quite a boon for MS....too bad they were too stupid to inquire about a follow-up right after Carckdown's release. Real Time Worlds even mentioned that they were very eager to do a follow up....MS is dufus.

I don't know that the premium themes are worse. The old ones were usually covered by giant ads for Mountain Dew (excuse me, MTN DEW) and other random garbage. So, I'd call it a wash. Still, paying for these things is absurd.

Do people really buy these premium themes? None of them ever seem worth it... but then again some people still buy porn

Foolishwolf, how does the NXE take away from your gaming experience? All the extraneous shit is pretty easy to ignore if you just want to play your game. I'm just curious what would inspire such a mini-rant.

It's about avatars, isn't it?

I still don't get why I have to pay to make my Xbox an advertisement for games.
Because I would for sure do it for free (both Braid and Crackdown themes), but having to pay my precious microsoft moon moneys for it offends me.

@Chronic Logic,

again, Yes. (although, I still wouldn't pay $3 for it)

Please let there be Crackdown 2 news coming soon. This time it had better use the same Euphoria physics engine GTAIV used. That would be perfect. But yeah, I don't buy premium themes, so I'm nonplussed by this news.

Some Themes look really nice (The ATHF one, for example.) This however, looks ugly.

A Crackdown theme? Now? Yeah hopefully that means something about a sequel or something being announced sometime.

Day Theme > ALL

What's the most I'm on the Dashboard, 2 minutes? FUCK THAT. And for a game that's 2 years old? Fail.

I'm happy with my Street Fighter IV theme and my girl is happy with her Castle Crashers theme. $3 isn't exactly a fuck ton of money either. If you like 'em, buy 'em, if not, ignore 'em.

Yes, I got the N+ premium theme and it's pretty rad, simplistic design and all in all pretty sleek. Maybe I am trying to justify my purchase, but I've had it on since I bought it. Most themes aren't worth it though, such as this crackdown one.

Dear Sirs,

I really liked Crackdown but am not currently in the market for any ancilliary, Crackdown branded, virtual crap. When you actually have some more Crackdown gameplay content for me, either though DLC (the harpoon gun was awfully nice but what have you done for me lately) or an actual new Crackdown game then by all means let me know.

In the meantime I'm buying inFamous and Prototype and Red Faction:Guerilla because Volition, Sucker Punch, and Radical seem to genuinely WANT my money enough to produce games that convey essential elements of "Crackdown-ness" rather than offering mere empty rederences.

Also, I've been stealing lawn furniture out of people's yards lately.
