The World at War PC beta is coming soon, here's how to get in photo

Not surprisingly, the PC beta for Call of Duty: World at War is going to be very easy to get into, so I better not hear any stories about how you bought a key for $80 on eBay like I've been hearing from people in the Xbox 360 beta. Sadly, I'm not joking.

Firstly, if you pre-order the WWII shooter at GameStop, you are guaranteed a code. But because pre-ordering is for suckers, you can also nab a key by signing up here, even after the beta has commenced.

Interestingly enough, the PC version of World at War will contain Xbox LIVE-esque friends functionality which will require that your online profile is attached to a CD key and is also an obvious attempt at cracking down on piracy. Can you blame 'em?

For additional information on the PC beta, head on over to WaW's official site.

You know what'll also help curb piracy? Actually tracking CD keys in multiplayer. Stupid, STUPID move they did with COD4, and had the audacity to complain about it. It's entirely invisible protection, and mostly foolproof for keeping pirates from accessing the multiplayer functions, it's ALMOST completely standardized for multiplayer games... and they didn't bother doing it.

How is that surprising?

Because the same dev making COD5 made COD3 and that wasn't on the PC.
It would be even extra retarded for COD5 not to be considering they're using the COD4 engine though, since the effort to port that to Windows is already done and ready.

Yeah I guess it makes sense running right off COD4, but I just figured since it was Treyarch (who also made all the console only Call of Duty's before COD3), that it wouldn't be.

I don't see jack for signing up in any of the links provided. Is there some magic word needed to say while you search for it?

The last call of duty worth anything was call of duty 1 all the way back in like 2001 or something.

Call of duty 4 was an avrage unimpressive PC game, and call of duty 2 and 3 sucked.

Not going to bother with this.

And the call of duty 4 engine IS a PC engine it was ported to Xbox and consoles. in a sucktastic fashion that is missing tons of features that the PC has.
